Katy Perry and Pink will most likely bring out new albums this year. I can see Katy Perry being the more successful of the two, and most likely to get a #1 with the lead single.

Adele sold 259,355 download with 73,244 streaming sales. Could Ed Sheeran sell 200,000 singles? Who knows. Maybe the sabbatical has done him a lot of good! Not that he really needed it, he was practically on top of the world this time two years ago.
73,244 ÷ 2 = 36,622 36,622 ÷ 2 = 18,311 18,311 + 36,622 = 54,933 ![]() The digital sales will be interesting as that might gives us an indication as to whether download sales really have tailed off since Hello was released. Then again, there's no guarantee that Ed Sheeran's new single will be as popular to begin with. It's all pure speculation right now. ![]() Quote:
What are the odds of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift releasing music at the same time to start a singles/album war? I thought she was meant to bring stuff out this year?
In that case there probably will be some type of battle going on there. If Taylor insists on keeping her music off Spotify then she's got no chance of getting a #1 single. Even the track with Zayn isn't exactly lighting up the charts although I'm not a fan of the song anyways so it's probably just as well.

Oh right, I couldn't remember exactly what Hello sold. Haven't a clue if I've got this right so that 73,244 were stream sales at a ratio of 100:1, so I'm guessing that figure under the new 150:1 system would come to 54,933?

I think 'Uptown Funk' was the last song I think that brought everyone together as it appealed to kids and over 50s as it crossed many decades in sound possibly 'Happy' as well but it got irritating fast.

No idea what your 'ugly stick' is meant to refer to. Little Mix's first two albums were mainly characterised by songs with a mainly modern R&B feel. However, Little Mix changed their musical direction with the 'Get Weird' album. They went for a diverse collection of pop music. They are a girl group with four good singers, they share lead singer duties very democratically and as one of the US critics suggested they are four young girls with old souls who have sensibilities beyond their age. They also brought some meaning back to girl power. That probably explains their success to some degree.
, think you can say that.
