Watching a new item, never fails to amaze me especially over the Xmas, new year hols the number of people that can ill afford presents, parties spend on the credit cards, pay day outfits, etc, etc.

The vast majority of the time, these losers are in the lower social group and generally say, " my Jonny isn't going with ... as it's Chrizmas.."

Then you get the lot buying sofas, "buy now, pay later,2 and the "later" soon catches up.

In my judgement schools must educate the weak minded that one should try to run before they can walk and like most hard working, educated people, save up before you buy unless it's a property or business and in that case, most people will need a mortgage for their first property at least

My cars, dad's cars all bought for cash - my first car, bought for cash. I too wanted a new mercedes clk and loan, but my parents gave me a good tongue lashing and not looked back since

Ask yourself this, why buy a tv costs 800 quid and repay 2500??

I rest my case

What was your case? Actually can you just clarify the point of your thread? What exactly are you wanting people to discuss?

Thank god daddy wouldn't let you have such a powerful car as you would likely kill yourself trying to drive it

You say the lower social group type, lesser educated and weak minded etc etc

what a load of tosh

My Brothers a PhD Doctor in a high flying career yet.....he got himself caught up in all this buy now pay later mess and financing things etc etc

It happens too anyone

Granted my Brother was living this way (buying stupidly) during his build up to where he is now, and is on the path too correcting his financial position and appears to have learned a lesson (fingers crossed)

Read my post again and you will see that you have posted the "tosh."

You will agree that the vast majority of people that spend on the never never and have difficulties repaying are on the lower social scale and that remains a fact.

Right. Your Daddy bought a new Range Rover for cash but can't afford the insurance excess for paintwork damage. Of course.

Do these 'losers' still live at home with their mum and dad when in their 40s?

Sorry, but most hard working educated people will still make use of credit - it's just the way the financial world is now.

They may use it successfully, i.e. only putting on what they can afford to repay and repaying it quickly, and not getting into trouble with it or relying on dodgy pay-day loans, but they'll still use it.

Ready my first post on this thread again and you will note I am talking about the majority and NOT all cases and that is a fact

If it was "outlawed" you'd get black market loans and these loan sharks prey on the communities low income, sub educational groups who are already in dire straights

Me and my family always use credit cards, unless there is a fee then we use debit cards, bank transfers or cash. We have never paid the credit card companies a penny in interest but use to our advantage. The credit cards carry extra protection against fraud, outlet going under and a few more things plus rewards/discounts etc, used wisely its your friend

Hmmm... it's actually the context that matters - otherwise the content is rather meaningless.

Unless of course you were referring to "straight" sequences in cards, for example.... or the non-curved parts of a racing circuit.
