Rather than doing a list of resolutions and ways I'm going to change my life, most of which won't last past January (if that ) I'm making a list of goals and achievements I want to do in the next year.

Do you have any? What are they?

My top ones are
- To dance more and get better at it
- To find a job I'm good at and enjoy
- To learn to work to live, and get out of the live to work mindset I'm in at the moment
- To say YES more
- To perform more in both comedy and burlesque
- To focus more on myself and my wellbeing.

To be as successful as my brother or even better.

To watch my little girl grow and show her how learning can be fun, having fun doesn't have to be naughty, and that the difference between right and wrong is important.

My life is one half of the union with my wife, so what is important to her is equally important to me. What affects her affects me. To share in the things that make her happy or sad, Laughing with her when she laughs, and sharing the load when she is hurt. We are one and live our lives with that always in mind.

We, as a family, have a place in our community and have a responsibility to be a constructive and useful part of that. Communities can't work if everybody thinks only of themselves.

- Find a better job / save for my tour guide green badge training
- Get my Estonian passport (need time and money to go to London twice for this)
- Move house
- Lose some weight / get fitter
- Look after my mental health more
- Get back into hobbies that I've neglected

Quite a bit would be focused around health and fitness I suppose. Lost a fair bit of weight this year, still some to go. Want to finish that off and get to my goal.

From a fitness pov I'm going to do the couch to 5k (possibly 10k) at some point. There are certain walks I want to do too. Got my eyes on walking the length of certain canals in my area (not necessarily in 1 day), certain walking routes and going up certain peaks.

Might try some solo wildcamping, I'd like to experience that and think it could be reawarding. Parts of Dartmoor are the only places you're really supposed to do it in England or Wales and I just might make the trip down there to give it a go. Would likely be late summer if I do it. There's youth hostels and the like around there too so I could maybe be self reliant for a couple of nights before spending a night in one of those, taking a much needed shower.

Hmmm, what else?

- Improve my ukulele playing skills
- Get back into brewing alcohol
- Achieve a greater knowledge of British and local history
- Explore some culinary history too, trying out traditional recipes for this and that
- To be excellent in the Bill and Ted sense

Sending positive vibes your way. I don't know your situation, but leaving any partner/husband can be a hard task. You need to do what's best for you.

I'd like to
- lose some weight via exercise. Already mapped out in my head what exercise
- get a dog again. But a much smaller one. I had a huge labrador and he was too much, especially as my house only has one bedroom
- take up a new hobby, although I haven't decided what yet
- read double the amount of books I did in 2016
- take advice more often, especially from my partner
- volunteer somewhere. Be it a charity shop or the hospital, it'd be nice to give something back
- experiment/grow with more varieties. I've done pumpkins and sweetcorn, always have an abundance of tomatoes. Tried melon (didn't go too well) & I have a pepper plant that has outlived its expectation (and is still producing fruit) - I love growing stuff
- be more proactive

Mostly stuff I should be doing anyway.

Haha, scary indeed!

Almost misread that, which could arguably have been even worse.

Good luck Mumbles, I parted from my husband after 25 years of marriage, and it's easier than you think, I don't know your situation of course but my husband wasn't nasty or anything like that but I just couldn't take the boredom and the 'untogetherness' any more!.... I live on my own now have my own flat and can do just as I please and it's WONDERFUL...........

My aim for the next year is to get my walking up to scratch!... I had a hip replacement at the end of july and I must admit I have been pretty lazy with my physio, so hence!.. I am still using a crutch a lot of the time to get about and am still using home delivery for my food, I am just starting to go shopping in my little local Tesco but feel I can't tackle the big stores yet!...... my excuse is that it is too wet out most of the time and when you are using crutches they slip so easily when you are walking along pavements!... So, that is my aim for the start of the year so that I will be good with my walking by the summer so that I can maybe take a trip to Greece....

New laptop
Possibly tablet pc sorted (but it'd probably be safer to get a new one due to the amount of cowboys who might be the cheapest but might make a balls up or a professional who leaves it FUBAR)
Get some stories finished (much to the cost of billions of quid worth of ammo and hardware left only fit for scrap metal recycling)
Get rid of this chest infection.
Finish the six cans of Kronenbourg and the rest of the twenty pack of Carling (it was the only one they had in at Tesco) I've got left over from Christmas weekend

Finish what I started last year and establish myself as a freelance translator. I qualified in November, I now need to start marketing, recoup my costs and build a client base.

Other than that, I'm not really in a position to achieve my greatest ambition... To get a novel published. It's in the hands of an editor and I just have to wait until they choose to get the ball rolling. Hopefully by the end of 2017 I will be a published author.

I'd like to have another win at the national Eisteddfod, so will channel most of my efforts into that.

Other than that I plan to take it easy, as my second baby is due in July so I don't imagine I'll have much spare time for goals and achievements!
