Were they obvious Christmas lights (in that they were festive colours or a light up Santa or something) or just generic fairy lights? If they were generic ones then they could be used as garden lights. I've seen that done a few times.

As has been said it is after, but actually it is after 12th night which is to the church the 5th, 12th day is the 6th ( Christmas started the night of 25th the day of the supposed birth so 25th was 1st night 26th was first day and second night) . Mind you I stopped worrying about that a long time ago ( if I was ever worried as such)

The last day of the year would be a good day to get rid....always think they look a bit sad by new year.

Yup, 12th night, the evening of Jan 5th. in practice, though the early morning of Jan 6th. would probably suffice.

I'll get the hubby to take them down Monday. I'd do it myself but the box is in the loft and women can't be trusted to go into the loft 😆

Mine come down on the 5th January, before twelfth night, then the house goes back to drabness

My other half is half Scottish so her tradition is to get Christmas all done by New Years Eve, so that's what happens. Can't say as I'm bothered one way or the other.
