I really hope the Queen honours Murray Walker as he definitely deserves a Knighthood. Also Tony Jacklin as he is one of our greatest golfrrs and won three Ryder Cups as captain

It's time that much loved TV presenter Vernon Kay got some sort of honour. I don't understand why other much less deserving celebrities have been honoured while Vernon has been overlooked.

June Sarpong should also be honoured.

None, they should get gongs for creating things, not for being a celebrity.

Kadeena Cox? I didn't follow the Paralympics or the Olympics this year, but I think it's good how she got medals in 2 different sports at the Paras. I'm aware of her because she made the shortlist of the Sports Personality of the year award and I read a brief profile.

Other than that I haven't got a clue.

Edit: Not saying she should necessarily become a Dame, but maybe something. Sarah Storey, who has also won medals in 2 different sports and was another on the shortlist for Sports Personality of the Year is a Dame, but then she's won a lot more medals and over a longer period of time.

Yup, I'm also struggling here.

Awarding anyone for just carrying out their chosen profession or career is a nonsense to me. I'm tempted to make an exception for sportsman whom proudly represent our country on the world stage, but then I ask was that their motivation? Or were they just chasing the $$$$ and some sweet sponsorship deals.

It's the way they justify it that gets me, the usual "for services to the XYZ industry". We could say that about anyone. I'd like to award every shop worker in this country an OBE for services to the retail industry and every bus, train and truck driver for services to the transportation industry. But no, seemingly only the few who had their 15 minutes of fame and have connections to the old boys network seem to be the lucky ones.

Not too sure why anyone should get a gong for just doing their sometimes very well paid job. For example you get a knighthood for riding a bike or rowing a boat or acting!!!
