Ever heard of Maxim Bakiyev? Probably not. Doesn't have a muslim sounding name so tabloids aren't obsessed with the fact a person is living the life of riley in London is wanted back in his homeland of Kyrgyzstan for "attempted murder, embezzlement of millions in state funds, illegal privatization of public land and corruption in selling off state assets" and he 'received sentences varying from 25 years to life'

Just one of many criminals using London as "a dictators’ safe space, where billions of dollars are laundered through the London real estate market every year, contributing to what the National Crime Agency estimates to be an annual total of more $125 billion laundered in Britain."

Don't worry Sadiq Khan will sort them out
Funnily enough he has pleaded to do so

“My worry is London is the world’s capital for money laundering and we have people from around the world laundering money through London’s property market leading to hyper inflation in property.

“What possible reason could there be to buy a property using an offshore company?

"What possible reason could there be to buy a property from a tax haven? And that’s why what the government needs to do is ensure there’s transparency in relation to property purchases in London,”

“The Mayor of New York has the powers to make transactions transparent at the moment I don’t have that power.

"So I am calling on David Cameron and George Osborne to make sure there is transparency on property transactions.

“It’s unacceptable and David Cameron had the audacity to go to Singapore last year and the lecture them on the importance of transparency but there’s been no action here.

“If you buy a property in New York the people behind the company have to be named.

"The Land Registry in the UK should make sure that everybody who buys a property should be named.”

The London mayor is a figurehead with few real powers beyond playing with trains and buses.

Yes I know but he can't and he won't. He hasn't any powers in that area.

The London mayor is a figurehead with few real powers beyond playing with trains and buses.
And the congestion charge which he is raising in January for vehicles older than 2005.

What he doesn't seem to grasp is that few private vehicles drive through London it is all work related, delivery vans, buses, lots of rubble lorries causing most of the trouble etc.

It will hit the poor again who live in London.

Mervyn King described the City of London as a "cesspit". I disagree. It's nowhere as nice as that!
