Completely absurd. Finding someone 'beautiful' doesn't necessarily relate to some form of sexual objectification. Plenty of people I find beautiful who I wouldn't want to sleep with, and plenty of people I want to sleep with who I find beautiful for reasons other than 'they're good looking and I'd like to give 'em one'.
It's just very silly. But outrage over anything is rather like those on the opposite side who put everything down to the ridiculous cliché of 'stupid PC snowflakes'. Absurd, knee-jerk reactions that are neither surprising nor worthy of consideration, just atonal, repetitive noise only made for the sake of making it. |

So we're talking about a handful of people, at least one of whom was probably taking the piss? Hardly outrage or PC gone mad.

It's mostly feminists who are up in arms about calling women beautiful.
Probably the one's who look like a bulldog chewing a wasp. |

the ridiculous cliché of 'stupid PC snowflakes'.
In just one week we've had this, the Richard Hammond ice cream scandal and some other piece of bull floating around about a Christmas photo of a family that was "colourist" due to their seating positions. People so desperate to see what they want to see to further the PC cause. Quote:
Twitter can be a very useful communication tool - and can be tailored to your own specific needs and requirements - if you don't like what you read - don't follow, block, ignore - it is really very easy.

Apparently there's now a backlash against the backlash that caused him to delete the tweet.
The stupid PC snowflakes who bitched about his tweet and said "it's very bad mmkay" should all be ashamed (if they even know the meaning of the word). Martin was friends with Fisher for many years and can say whatever the hell he wants because i'm damn sure he'd know better than most what she would or wouldn't approve of.

Ridiculous in your eyes. Never more apt and appropriate in mine. I was very slow to adopt use of the term but do so now because it is seemingly more fitting than ever.

People so desperate to see what they want to see to further the PC cause. I don't go anywhere near Tw4tter. My problem is that these things quickly permeate from their into the mainstream press, and thus the process of brainwashing of the impressionable and the snowflakes, telling them what to feel offended about, continues... |

I'm more concerned that the random brain farts of idiots on twitter, who are clearly following what they think should be said in order to support equality, is news.

I keep getting told by news outlets of all these people being offended by things. Yet I never seen those who are offended only posts like this thread where people see nothing wrong.
I think this could go into a conspiracy thread. As its something I'm told is going on and yet never see it myself |

I don't think Steve Martin should've deleted the tweet, but I can understand why he did. He's probably wracked with grief over the death of a friend he's known for years right now, and I expect that defending a heartfelt tribute to her in the face of criticism from clueless online attention-seekers seemed more trouble than it was worth.
What struck me when I read it was that a lot of the 'look at ME!' critics will be the first to jump on the 'look at ME, I'm RIP'ing' bandwagon when he eventually makes his own departure. |

It's a well known fact that a lot of people on twitter get outraged at just about anything. I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
Tomorrow they will be outraged at something else. |

When did a random few on Twitter gain such power? He should never have deleted the tweet.

Ugh, Twitter again. There was nothing wrong with his tweet. This type of feminism gives women a bad name

Sod these authoritarian feminists, not even allowed to describe women as attractive or even call them "beautiful" even in that is in the vaguest sense about their personality, their aura, their spirituality even before their sexiness, what bollocks, If I was a celebrity I'd say it and fully stand by it, Steve Martin was the friend, not the judgemental authoritarian snowflakey feminist onlookers, he and Carrie Fisher knew each other best, Steve Martin should just stand by his tweet!
Shock horror, men find women attractive and vice versa. |
