2 point 4 children
It is one of the most underrated BBC tv shows from the 90s and yet for some reason it appears no where (except Youtube!) to be found. You'd have thought that in the world of on demand (BBC Store) it would be made availiable to buy, watch and keep...but no...Tut tut. Surely the cost would be cheap...especially online?!

I think I'd describe it as an OK show nothing brilliant but moderately amusing at times. |

Only the first few series are available to buy on DVD, and looking on Amazon, that's only from Marketplace sellers.

![]() I loved the programme, and despite the 'out there' nature of the series, it was touching in places, and is a bit close to home for me in places. |

Wrong decade, mate. Thatcher had departed before it even hit the screens, unless you mean the cider maker!

It was last shown on Drama I think. About two years ago?
I liked it. Nice and lighthearted with some sinister dark twists. |

The Shirley bassey ep was one of the best. I'm not sure if that was the same ep with Ben trapped in the village from the prisoner.

Drama showed it in its entirety (excluding Christmas specials) 3 years ago. I remember as I recorded them all on my TIVO and was gutted when I moved to a non-cabled area and lost them! I loved the show (and lets face it, there are many worse out there that have got a full DVD release), it did go 'off' in the last couple of series, when Jenny went to uni and they fostered a child; though IMHO it's still far superior to most sitcoms. I saw an interview with the writer (Andrew Marshall) some years ago and apparently the issue is a scene from series 8 (I think) where Ben bought Thunderbird 1. The cost of getting clearance to show the scene for DVD release is so high, it's not deemed worth it. I never understood why they couldn't have cut the scene and have them discuss it without the car being in shot though. It's not that unusual - a large chunk of 'The Jolly Boys Outing' Only Fools & Horses episode is cut from the DVD as a nightclub singer is singing 'Just the Way You Are'.
Really wish Gold/Drama/anyone would repeat it again! |
