Can a Euro cheque be banked into a UK bank account easily? Or will it get consumed by charges and the exchange rate ? Does it have the usual 3 month expiry time as a UK one ?

Check your bank's tariff of charges for the type of account you have.

All charges associated with presenting a foreign currency cheque will be laid out there.

It's a myth that UK cheques have a 3 month expiry time. Again, check with your bank about the age of foreign currency cheques they will accept. I bank with Santander and they will accept a foreign currency cheque for paying into a consumer current account for up to 6 months from the date on the cheque.

6 months is when banks tend to reject cheques - not 3 months - but it's at the discretion of the receiving bank. It's to protect the drawer of the cheque.

Cheques expire in line with the statute of limitations.
