I didn't say you can't pay your bills monthly. It was meant more in annoyance that if you have elderly relatives who don't believe in direct debits then becomes a pain in the rear to deal with.

Me too. The only annual bills I have nowadays are my NMC subscription (nursing), AA, car insurance, car tax and TV licence (not sure is it's still the case but It used to be more for TV licence if you opted for monthly payments).
Everything is monthly direct debit - and even all the above are yearly direct debit. Much less hassle and easier to budget and keep control of outgoings.
Thanks. I have just changed my quarterly payments to monthly.
I pay my bills manually i.e. BT sends me an email when my bill is due and then I go onto the site and pay it with my debit card. I don't want to do Direct Debit for BT.

Is that possible ? I can't seem to find any way to do this on the BT website.”
