Just watching the Dam Busters on the ITV it's a good film. I was just wondering how long before someone complains about the name of Guy Gibson dog.

You should not change history just because it upsets someone!

Oh this again. The snowflake brigade? What about the Daily mail brigade who get offended by the flash of a tit or someone says the F word? Hypocrisy seems to have been in full overdrive in 2016.

Surprising, given it's on ITV.

Is this the new name for the "PC brigade"?

Interesting idea this thread - anticipating complaints that no one is making!

There must be a term for people who overuse the term "snowflake".

Oh, there is. "Dense".

The amount of threads we've had on this very subject I could almost suspect some people only ever watch the movie in the hope of it getting cut so they can get cross.

Ironically, it appears to have been longer than it took for someone to complain about (the yet to appear) people complaining about the name of Guy Gibson's dog.

The dogs grave is at RAF Scampton, with a headstone featuring his name, which was a common name for a black dog in that era.

N.igger!

There that wasn't so hard. And used without any trace of racism.

Aunty DS don't like it though.

It was going to be renamed Digger in a proposed remake of the film, but that still hasn't happened.

don't see why they should rename it Digger if that is not what the dog was called. Django Unchained used the N word alot and don't remember any uproar about that ( and that word was utter 110 times according to an article i read online.)

I don't like the word or would use the word but sadly in the past it was frequently used.

Too right, it wasn't an Australian dog.

They shouldn't alter history to suit the 'offended' either.

Didn't loads of cats and dogs used to be called Blacky or Blackie too?

I have vague memories.

Not soon enough for your liking given you started this thread to bait people into complaining about it. You sound like one of those people who has to try to find things so you can moan about the "pc brigade."

You can't airbrush history and shouldn't even try!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/******_(dog)

My goodness! Even DS censors the name and deforms the link so that it doesn't work.

(It removes the " ) " )

I'm finding it a little hard to become outraged about something that hasn't happened yet

Wake me up when it's time to get the out
