We're going to our friends' house, but it'll just be the four of us there and we're staying in and having a quiet one. Personally I'm glad of it as quiet ones are quite rare for me and I like the idea of it to be honest. Especially because next year is going to be a very big one for me, getting married, taking on more work, moving house at some point and maybe more. I'd quite like the time to think about it quietly and without getting emotional, rather than the chaos I usually end up enduring.

Staying in same as I do every year ..I can't stand NYE/DAY ,and am usually in bed before mid-night ,or just nosing about on here if i'm not tired

I'm staying in but won't be going to bed before 12 because it's pointless as I'd only be woken by the ships and fireworks at midnight. Plus I do like to see in the new year after I've become very nostalgic during the closing hours and minutes of the year that's coming to an end. I did my going out on NYE back in my younger days so it doesn't interest me at all now, and the last time I went to a party on NYE I'm pretty sure my drink was spiked so I much prefer to spend it quietly at home these days.

I am either or on this matter, parties are great but going out with just OH and I not so much

However was planning to see Passengers tonight, but local Cineworld has a show at 9pm tomorrow so it's a night out, then home to see fireworks on the TV.

I'll be in bed same as I am every night at that time. I don't drink or do parties, I have never been out on NYE in my life nor do I want to.

Staying in watching a 3D film followed by Jules Holland (the only new year programme I can stand).

Might finally get around to watching 'The Force Awakens' which I have had for ages.

Will be as good a time as any to see poor Carrie in a big film role again.

Husband at work so staying in with a takeaway and a bottle of wine, hopefully he can pop home near midnight, if not he'll text as near to midnight as he can.

I'll watch the fireworks on the TV, then have a look out of our bedroom window to see the local ones, haven't been out on NYE for years and don't miss it tbh

No option for working? Night shift until 7am for me.

Staying in and will watch Robbie and the fireworks on BBC1 then go to bed. Bottle of prosseco to see in the new year.

Staying in. After many disastrous NYEs of my younger days it is a wonderful thing to not feel the pressure to go out and have 'the most fun ever'. I have been invited to a do but would rather stay home.

Couldn't really care less about the "New Year". I've never understood what I am supposed to be celebrating although I've no problem with other people finding something in it.

Babysitting the grandson tonight and although I sometimes I stay up until after midnight on NYE if there is anything decent on tv, as I am still suffering with a filthy cold I'll probably be in bed at normal time tonight although undoubtedly both I and the grandson will be woken by the fireworks at midnight.

I think the last time I deliberately stayed up for new year was the millennium(the most recent one!). My house is normally the NYE younger grandkids sleep-over destination.

The last time I stayed up to see a New year in was 1999 and was not overly interested then.

Parent's house for a buffet and piss-up. Staying over and having a New Year's roast thing at lunch tomorrow. It's pretty much a second Christmas dinner as we'll be having Christmas pudding for desert and pulling leftover crackers. We all get one small gift too, like a mini secret santa to mark the occasion. No turkey in sight though.

Late dinner, 21.45 reservation in a Thames side restaurant at Tower Bridge, me, the latest squeeze, who's looking more and more likely to be the one, plus a friend of hers, widowed earlier this year, and who will no doubt "feel the pain" when she hears Auld Lang Syne at midnight.
I'm on good terms with a few publicans in the area, so we'll be welcome to slide in around 00.30 - 00.45 to a pub or two if we're in a fit state to do so on the way back to my place.

Going to my mate's pub in a few hours. I'm not usually one for a party, but I might as well.

It's all the faux celebrations that annoy me.

One year Jools/the BBC should concentrate on getting about 4 decent acts (including one legend, eg Tom Jones) and broadcast live.

I used to be out partying every NYE without fail when I was in my late teens and twenties, but I just cannot be bothered with all that nowadays, plus I'm just getting over a horrid cold. We're having a few drinks at home tonight, but I might well be in bed before midnight. We've got friends round for Sunday lunch tomorrow, which I think will be a far nicer way to celebrate the new year than getting drunk at some overpriced restaurant or event tonight anyway.
