Looking at tonight's tv i can see why folk go out. More bloody Harry Potter than seems to last all night, then we have a repeat of Mrs Browns boys and the pre recorded Jules Holland. Marvellous viewing.

There should have been a "Staying in and seeing the NY in, and then bed" which would apply to us
Did my NY gallivanting about in my late teens/early twenties. Lived in Corby then, aka little Scotland and with jet black hair I was very welcome in anybodies house after midnight. Woke up in many strange places
Recently lost the habit of going to a pub when they started charging admission which to me made a nonsense of the term "Public House"

With all the On Demand services and record and catch up options I don't think what's on offer on normal TV really matters anymore.

I wanted to go out to see our local fireworks over the bay, however, this means that we cant then drink because we need to drive to get home or pay cab fare which Im not prepeared to do.

So, we are having a nice late roast dinner and hopefully geting started on the fizzy in the next few mins with some nibbles first.

Me and the girlfriend are going out. Could be a local pub, or into Halifax or Bradford.
I've always loved going out with a partner, even more than going out with my mates really. I'm worried that after an expensive taxi fare into town, that the place will be empty. I haven't been 'down town' on NYE for a very long time indeed!
Does it still get busy? Silly question I know...

Heading to my grandparents house to see in new year with them and the rest of the family. My grandparents usually go out dancing on NYE but since nans legs have got worse and she's now using walking sticks and wheelchairs that's not an option now

I was going to go out but by the time we tried to buy tickets online it was only the extortionate prices left and I wasn't willing to pay that much. I'm quite look forward to a quiet one with some food and watching the fireworks on the TV. As I'm currently suffering from a major hangover it'll just be a small glass at midnight (if I can manage it)

Am home alone nursing a very sore tooth, wouldn't inflict my company on anyone this evening. Am cheering myself up with paracetamol, haribos and making some jewellery whilst watching the Jewellerymaker shopping channel. I deserve some retail therapy.

I must be the only person who is genuinely looking forward to having a root canal filling! Honestly I can't wait, would happily spend the evening having it done if I could. Trust me to get this the day before Xmas eve when it was too late to get it fixed.

Staying in with my husband and two dogs. Hubby is currently cooking us a steak dinner and I have a bottle of fizz with my name on it in the fridge. I'm sure my husband will nod off in the armchair, but I like to stay awake and watch the fireworks .... call my mum, wish everyone a happy new year and be in bed by 12.15am 😁

Mum babysitting my little one so a luxury night on my own. I'm pretty sure I'll be asleep by 10ish but I'm well past the need to go out partying on any night including NYE.

Staying in don't think it's safe out there. I'm praying to god nothing happens, but no I couldn't be in the big city tonight I'd be terrified watching anyone and everyone looking for someone suspicious. Celebrating in a big crowd wouldn't be fun or any kind of celebration. Too much fear.
