I am still absolutely astonished that the BBC have allowed him to go ahead with this crazy storyline. I mean its clear he dislikes the characters, especially considering the shite hes given them to work with since he took over the show, but why not just let them exit with a chance to return under another producer.
Considering the Cindy Beale error, the Kathy Beale error, the Pat Butcher error, the (perhaps) Angie Watts error need i go on, i find it amazing that yet another 2 female legacy characters are just being sent to the graveyard in a completely wasteful fashion when there are so many other exciting storyline opportunities for them to exit on, dieing in a swimming pool is just BIZARRE.
I am willing to take bets on how long this producer will last, maybe a little bit longer than Lorraine Newman, but not as long as Bryan Birkwood.

Ronnie and Roxy need a break they did bring the show into the 21st Century. I think SOC is a sensible guy and could give a fantastic exit. Also we will get new characters I am sure there will be a new party-girl character since the show is running low on that aspect with Kim now a mother, Stacey a mature woman, Kat gone and Ronnie and Roxy leaving.

Well i can safely say that killing off Ronnie snd Roxy will never be as bad as when they killed off Pat Butcher

I think its short sighted. Ok write them out, but death is pretty final even in soap fantasy world (assuming its not someone's dream ofcourse) and it doesn't give any option to future showrunners.

I'd disagree with that they are certainly iconic for the Late 2000's - Mid 2010s period of EastEnders.

It's frustrating because on the one hand I think the writing for Ronnie and Roxy has been poor this year and some of the storylines repetitive, which explains how Sam Womack's acting has changed (in certain scenes it just feels like she can't be bothered). On the other hand, when given good material Samantha Womack and Rita Simmons light up the screen. SW in particular is a fantastic actress and has variety. She has brilliant comic timing but can also do serious and dramatic scenes spectacularly. I think she is, under the right material, one of the strongest actresses and memorable characters introduced in the noughties.

1. It's not confirmed they die. Pure speculation. Although I suspect at least one of them will.
2. SOC is doing an excellent job in making characters interesting again - including R&R.
3. Their story over the past couple of months has actually been a good slow burner. Ronnie and Jack effectively taking Roxy's daughter away from her as she then starts to self destruct. It's human. It's real. It's a darn sight better than a sensationalist build up.
4. We now have Glenda and Danny on the scene - which means it's likely to have more plot twists than originally expected.
5. EE have leaked what they want to leak.
6. IT HASN'T EVEN AIRED YET.

Everything I have read about their 'grizzly' end sounds exactly like what is going to happen going on spoilers and programme synopsis. Along with the language used by both actresses about their exit and Barbera Windsors fury at the situation.
How on earth would their be time in the hour episode to do anything other than kill them off?
Its a real shame I think, considering Samantha and Rita did not want to leave the show never mind get killed off. SOC has treated them with contempt.
I will miss them, and I will miss Glenda I guess theres no reason for her to ever come back again now.

How on earth do you conclude he has made ronnies character..she has sat in the background doing nothing but mother scenes which zhows how soc does not care for sw. She is leaving in a few days and weve barely seen her in thd build up and he certainly hasnt used it to showcase her acting. Sam does great at dramatic. I cant even be bothered watching as im.not watching ronnie as a character anymore and certainly not interested in a baroque style comedic death!

Like killing Lucy its also rather short sighted if both are killed. One I could live with and if I had to choose I'd probably pick Roxy to go only because the past several years she really hasn't developed as a character at all whereas Ronnie probably has more to give.

They're boring as ****. Pat was around for more than twice the time they were and was still entertaining up until the end. So no, it's not the biggest mistake since Pat's death. It's not a mistake at all. They've ran their course several times over. Good riddance!

I think their exit is playing out so well, except for the fact is just hasnt been long enough! I wish it could have gone on for a few more months!

I don't think that killing Ronnie is mistake but I think it's wrong to kill off Roxy. After thinking about it, I think that they both definitely die.

Dont we know how it is going to go? Happy wedding with roxy starting out well, then getting on drugs and booze as she sees ronnie happy, family scenes. Cue ronnie realising she cant find her, sisterly moment on wall, roxy falls in pool, ronnie jumpz in to save her, drowning due to dress weight or getting stuck, someone finds them. The only thing we dont know is if they die immediately or get rescued, die later. Chances of survival slim as why would they suddenly leave after

I never assume anything anymore after Max`s 'revenge' was touted in the press and even the trailer made him look menacing. I think SOC likes to plant (and even film) false leads to get ppl talking. DTC did this too. Remember how this time last year everyone thought Dean was going to drown in the lake?

They aren't going to be killed off. There is going to be a big twist.

What about the clip of them driving off with Ronnie still in her dress? Plus the weight of a dress would not drown a competent swimmer in a swimming pool...a pool is not the sea.
