![]() Maybe Ronnie shouldn't be killed off since she at least has changed over the years but Roxy, with or without Ronnie, is boring as ****. Awful actress and character.

I will be disappointed if they are not killed off. I just don't see where they can go next,
Ronnie has neatly got away with killing two people, has managed to fashion together a family of children only one of which actually belongs to her, is on and off with Jack continuously, where else is there for her to go? another murder? another pretend child? another falling out/wedding to Jack? Roxy just lurches from one drunken escapade to another which is starting to look a bit silly now she is older, no progress made, no direction, no job even I think this branch of the Mitchell family has run out of steam, and I want to see how Jack copes as a single parent, he was so keen to keep Amy and Richard, might not be so easy without a convenient female babysitter to hand! |

While Pat Butcher definitely was a big blunder, killing her off wasn't.

1. It's not confirmed they die. Pure speculation. Although I suspect at least one of them will.
2. SOC is doing an excellent job in making characters interesting again - including R&R. 3. Their story over the past couple of months has actually been a good slow burner. Ronnie and Jack effectively taking Roxy's daughter away from her as she then starts to self destruct. It's human. It's real. It's a darn sight better than a sensationalist build up. 4. We now have Glenda and Danny on the scene - which means it's likely to have more plot twists than originally expected. 5. EE have leaked what they want to leak. 6. IT HASN'T EVEN AIRED YET. |

There's no comparison OP.
Pat was an iconic, timeless character that still had her place on the square. Simply by being there she lighted up a room and improved a storyline. She was the tough old bird everyone relied on. She'd had storyline after storyline, and excelled every time. If any character deserved to go off into the sunset, it was her. 20 years of service to the show - and they killed her for wanting a break. R&R have had their moments but good god are these characters tired. Look me in the eye and tell me either of them have had any development since 2007. This storyline could be happening then and it wouldn't seem to out of place. Plus, Ronnie was killed as a tragic character in 2011 and Roxy has never been that likeable (apart from, ironically, the Newman years). I doubt the show is going to really miss them. |
