EE Max is messed up man
That was definately out there and much different from anything we've seen from him, that whole episode was fantastic i thought. Were all wondering what Max is is going to do but i dont think he knows himself, i feel for him prison has messed him right up. I still want him to go for revenge, is that still going to happen? the Lee stuff was brilliant as well and very realistic i could relate to how he feels and what he was saying.

I really thought Max was going to smoke the cigarette! The self-harm storyline is a genius move from a story point of view. Poor Max.
It does echo, for me, the scene where Deano (as he was then!) showing Chelsea his arm, which was full of cigarette burns, when he had been released from prison back in 2008. She asked him what happened to him in prison and he said 'everything'. |

I thought he turned religious at first. Saying how he forgave Phil.

Is forgiveness his way of controlling the situation? Or is he lulling them all into a false sense of security? Not that that's going very well!

The Storyline is a wonderful route to take Max as a character. Obviously I it's his Way of coping. Tonight was a quality episode

I've been very critical of SOC but i'm starting to see signs we could be onto something special, last couple of episodes have been fantastic, i really hope he nails new years day as well, he does that i'm willing to give him a chance.

Very interesting turn of events there for Max. He's been pretty much gripping since his return and I couldn't guess whether his forgiveness was real or not but self harming was a real shocker. I still don't know what it actually means regarding his forgiving everyone but I'm certainly very intrigued.

At first I thought when he picked up the cigarette he was going to smoke it illustrating he was lying about forgiveness and stopping drinking/smoking and was playing the long game and after revenge.
Wasn't expecting him to self harm. But what a interesting story! I don't think a soap has tackled a middle-aged man self harming before. Will be very interesting to see how the story plays out. Hope it's not just got a silly conclusion where Stacey sees it and Max tells her he did it now and again and will stop and it's never heard of again! |

I'm genuinely shocked the writers have FINALLY decided to give Max a more original storyline for once. Let's see where it goes. I still don't think his revenge will amount to anything, but I'm interested in the self-harming plot.

I'm really liking this storyline for Max. This is a much more interesting direction for the character.

As expected Max's revenge is a damp squib. His revenge consists of forgiving everyone and harming himself. My commiserations to all the people who were hoping Max was somehow going to do something worse to his enemies than what they've already suffered in his absence. That Jane really had it coming. It's a shame she's had no form of comeuppance. Ditto The Philth. They've both been on easy street all year.

Jake Wood taking a year off is the best thing he could of done for Max, it's given him a whole new lease of life

So glad for a fresh turn other than a "acting one way whilst plotting revenge" as Jake Wood and the character of Max is far better than that.
Such a huge boost for EE having a man of Jake Wood's talents back on screen, look forward to seeing how he portrays this, very, very confident he'll do it justice... just hope the material is good! |

People don't usually self harm on their wrists as it's too easy for others to spot.

I've always LOATHED Max but thankfully he seems a lot less awful since his return. Whether it lasts is another thing. |
