Given both Max and Stacey's reputations as well as their shared history Martin's jealousy is understandable. He's just using Ian and Jane as an excuse to mask his jealously. Max should really direct his revenge on Phil though rather than Ian and Jane. Ian and Jane didn't actually want Max to go down for Lucy's murder - Jane even lied in court to give Max a false alibi. It was Phil who was behind Max being found guilty by bribing the jury foreman, that sealed his fate.

Why is Stacey even speaking to Ian and Jane? That's what I want to know. They framed her friend for murder. Beyond a joke.
They didn't plant evidence, they didn't spread rumours, they had nothing to do with the circumstantial evidence that the lead the police to Max- in fact that was all his own doing for having an affair with Lucy. Then when things started to look bad for Max, Jane perjured herself in court to give Max a false alibi (letting everyone think she slept with him behind Ians back) which very likely would have worked had PHIL MITCHELL not bribed the foreman of the jury to find Max guilty anyway (which he did so the police wouldn't come and sniff around Ben again) Ian and Jane were wrong not to come forward with the truth after Max was sent down, however they did not frame him. |

What I don't like is that the only one really truly defending Max is Stacey but it's being made out like that's because she fancied him once and might do so again. In reality I doubt Stacey is thinking that way and is genuinely outraged that Max was implicated deliberately to the point Phil bribed a juror.
Yes Ian and Jane have been through a lot but most of it was self inflicted. Max might be a selfish womaniser but he didn't deserve to be sent down for a murder he didn't commit. |

Lets stick to the facts of what actually happened. Ian and Jane let Max go down yes but did they "frame him"? No, they didn't.

Ian and Jane did the wrong things for a good reason (to them) and felt awful for it. Phil was the one who ultimately caused Max to be convicted. It wasn't just about Ben either, he had a grudge against Max. It was probably 10% Ben, 90% spite. |

I actually think SOC is making a good job of sorting out an absolute stinker of a mess that DTC left him. The aftermath of the Lucy reveal ruined so many characters.

Martin using the family excuse and how Ian and Jane will be affected to mask his own pathetic insecurities and jealousy is just the exact kind of weaselly type of thing Ian would do.
I hope Stacey sticks to her guns and is still there for Max. I just wish she would tell Martin a few home truths about his family as well. Still maybe I will just have to make do with them flirting under Martin's nose for the foreseeable

Any man would feel completely uncomfortable with their wife becoming fixated on another man, especially one whom she has a long history with. Stacey spent most of the evening ignoring Martin and worrying about Max instead. That is enough to make any man extremely insecure and Stacey ought to be more sensitive to his feelings too.

I really like Martin and can see why he would be jealous of Stacey and Max but he's still annoying the life out of me it was ok for him to always be around his ex Sonia but its not alright for Stacey. Martin is so old fashioned I'd like to see Stacey get out from the kids and house and work a few hours in the Vic while Linda is away.
