Fair play to him!

Now, I'm as surprised as the next man considering the whole tax thing, but I'm chuffed for him.

The honours these days are generally dished out ridiculously to totally unwarrented people but if anyone deserves a Knighthood then it is Ken Dodd.
So pleased for him.

Absolutely. 60 odd years of touring and he's still going at 89! His shows go on for hours as well you get your money's worth!

I'm glad people agree, knowing the usual cynicism of DS.

Never thought this would happen, but well deserved and long overdue! It's nice that's he's one of few British comedy icons still around, and receives some recognition for his longevity.

Rise Sir Kenneth Dodd!

Trouble is, people are seeing him trending on Twitter and expecting the worst!

Rock on, Sir Ken. Tattifilarious!
He'll be tickled pink!

ETA: Not a real fan of the 'Honours System' generally but if anyone deserves a big badge for services to entertainment, it's Doddy.

Fantastic news. He should have been knighted years ago. He quietly does his charity work with his "Good Turns" society lunches etc. He's an amazing man as well as a comedy genius. Before anyone mentions the tax trial, he was found NOT guilty.

Surprised he got it. Well, he did fiddle the tax man big time, wasn't it the 80s he got caught after doing it for years. The money's under the bed.
