Such losses to the show. You don't get too many invisible, previously unmentioned characters who make such a huge impact in such a short space of time. Tony is not actually dead and he will make his explosive entrance on New Year's Day. He is watching Sharon and Vincent in the Albert and then approaches them and says "Hello, bet you never thought you'd see me again". He is revealed to be Gavin's long lost brother and was also friends with Vincent's parents obvs. Not only this, but he is Shirley's childhood sweetheart (before Kevin, before Buster, basically when she was still in the womb). He is very unpopular in Walford and has feuds with quite a few people. One day he has a massive argument with Phil over the bins as well as West Ham's new stadium. Sharon sends Tony into the kitchen to eat a biscuit, where he takes puts on a massive pair of earrings and stares into the mirror. We then find out that he is Pat, who was actually in witness protection for the past 4 years. Duff duff.

I get what your saying but I also understand what they trying to do, Tony wasn't a enemy or a close member of his family, he was a illusion of himself, for the first time in forever this unseen person made Phil feel guilty, for simply being given the chance at life, when some would say Phil doesn't deserve it, that why the pillow scene with Max had a big of significance.

Exactly. It has more meaning if it's unseen or hinted at. Not everything has to be all-singing all-dancing. That's why "Jo Masters" scenes in EE were so touching - they were brief and she was a stranger. That can sometimes have way more meaning than if it were some OTT character who saved Lee.

Just like every other strong male or female who has had to interact with the Philth in this century - and have then been totally ruined by the pitiful TBTB in order to make their little bald God look invincible/omnipotent/sexually magnetic.
