EastEnders - Eddie and Tony

Such losses to the show. You don't get too many invisible, previously unmentioned characters who make such a huge impact in such a short space of time. I was right there with The Philth mourning the loss of good ol' Tone. I'll never forget that time he...um...and then there was the time they....oh and that episode where....

And Denny's good pal Eddie. What a laugh he was!!!

Gone too soon along with the son of that random woman who talked Lee out of committing suicide. They'll never be forgotten!!!

Just like the 80s. Lots of random deaths of minor or unseen characters

Really? Joking about a kids death. Pretty low. By all means we like a joke on here but seriously...

Its not about the death of the never seen characters, it is the impact the deaths have on Phil and Denny that they are mentioned.

Plus without Tony we would never have had the frosty the snowman joke

He didn't really die. In fact, he never actually existed.

We never got to meet Tony, but his legacy in the Walfordverse has been forever sealed

No body no death. Soap rules!

He'll be back next year to terrorize Walford Primary.

Tony is not actually dead and he will make his explosive entrance on New Year's Day. He is watching Sharon and Vincent in the Albert and then approaches them and says "Hello, bet you never thought you'd see me again". He is revealed to be Gavin's long lost brother and was also friends with Vincent's parents obvs. Not only this, but he is Shirley's childhood sweetheart (before Kevin, before Buster, basically when she was still in the womb). He is very unpopular in Walford and has feuds with quite a few people. One day he has a massive argument with Phil over the bins as well as West Ham's new stadium. Sharon sends Tony into the kitchen to eat a biscuit, where he takes puts on a massive pair of earrings and stares into the mirror. We then find out that he is Pat, who was actually in witness protection for the past 4 years. Duff duff.

Would I Lie To You was a tune though.

Pity the show didn't have the guts to kill off Phil.

Sharon and Ben could really do with that. He holds far too much sway in the Mitchell household. Sharon's 'I'm nothing without him' line in the Christmas Day episode was sickening.

Yes that line was infuriating.

I get what your saying but I also understand what they trying to do, Tony wasn't a enemy or a close member of his family, he was a illusion of himself, for the first time in forever this unseen person made Phil feel guilty, for simply being given the chance at life, when some would say Phil doesn't deserve it, that why the pillow scene with Max had a big of significance.

Sharon Watts is truly dead after that line.

Was that the old fogey everyone suddenly started worrying about out of the blue? Apparently he was the life and soul of the community but not a single viewer had heard of him before his death

Exactly. It has more meaning if it's unseen or hinted at. Not everything has to be all-singing all-dancing. That's why "Jo Masters" scenes in EE were so touching - they were brief and she was a stranger. That can sometimes have way more meaning than if it were some OTT character who saved Lee.

There are no more Watts left in albert square.

I knew right then that (although let's face it as soon as he let him off for Dennis that was the end) that the final destruction of her character was complete.

Just like every other strong male or female who has had to interact with the Philth in this century - and have then been totally ruined by the pitiful TBTB in order to make their little bald God look invincible/omnipotent/sexually magnetic.

It's simply a disgrace how one character is regarded as so much more important than anyone else.
