Yes at last! Should have been decades ago so that he had lots of time to enjoy it.

One of those names who you think should have had a knighthood years ago, good for him.

Rule of law, not guilty of anything. Nothing to overlook.

That's fine, it's the law that matters fortunately. The knighthood confirms that.

One of my favourite Spitting Image sketches was the Question of Sport skit when Piggott was in prison, and the David Vine puppet asks the Lester Piggott puppet

"Lester, home or away?"

And the nasal reply

"I want to go home please"

To which Vine replies

"Sorry Lester, no chance of that"

Have I miss-remembered something here - apologies if I have, senior brain!

Didn't Ken Dodd get done for major tax evasion 20/30 years ago?

If so then how on earth can he be considered worthy of a title. People are up in arms about Victoria Beckhm but surely this is a country mile more of a travesty.

never found his stage comedy particularly funny [apart from the odd line] but in interview he is quick and witty.

can`t say he hasn`t worked hard for it and he is an institution.

They could have used the same puppet for Arsene Wenger

I have been a Ken Dodd fan for many decades,

However, I think that had the court venues been reversed and Ken Dodd been tried in Ipswich and Lester Piggott gone before a Liverpudlian jury, the verdicts in each case may well have been very different.

So you don't think those who have done extra good work in the community shouldn't be rewarded? Strange.

A Tory and failed accountant, he is guilty as charged.

Doddy with the compelling, "I'm a child when it comes to my tax affairs" defence.

Is simply being still alive after decades peddling the same schtick now enough for a gong?

Can you point out where anyone has said that? Either that or clarify what you actually mean because the double negative makes it a bit confusing.

The poster said he doesn't approve of the honours system. Point taken on my English. Had only just woken up 😂
