That's what I meant. CBB18 followed a more successful BB17 whereas CBB16 followed BB16. CBB16 and CBB19 had lowest ratings for launch following lowest rated series. CBB18 launch climbed to higher than previous 2 summer launches following the civilian which was also the highest in 2 years as an average.
So the poorer the series, the launch of the next series suffers. Only time this wasn't the case recently was BB15 following CBB13 The cast on paper IS poor but most people didn't know that when tuning in as not a lot read rumours. How would they know it was a poor lineup, and deciding to not tune in? We don't know whether the series will succeed until the next few ratings. I think I'll enjoy this series more than last summer based on first impression In any case, I'm not convinced by that theory about launch night ratings. I can't find a launch night rating for bb4, but bb5 had more viewers for its first show than bb3 did, even though it followed bb4, and bb7 had more than bb6 even though bb6 had followed the very successful bb5. If the theory were right, bb6 would have had the higher number. I also think people tend to overinterpret launch night ratings. The cast wasn't just poor on paper. They remained poor throughout launch night, and though I haven't watched since nothing in the forum makes it sound like they've become any better. (Since the launch night rating is an average, btw, it can be down because viewers don't watch the whole show, and not only because they didn't watch at all. Viewers could have been turned off what what they saw of the cast even if they hadn't read anything in advance, and that could have made a difference. But in any case, I don't think it makes sense to think that the previous series is the strongest influence on whether people check out the next one.) |

Think this one will easily be the worst rating winter one yet.
I think it has a good chance of it being the lowest ratings one ever |
