Brookside actor dies

I didn't actually watch soaps when Brookside was around but I might as well make a thread just so I can say 2016 strikes again! |

Cannot remember him myself, despite watching at the time. I can remember the characters brother, Callum (he was a more major character) played by the late Gerrard Kelly

Yes
This was the more rational of the two Finnegan brothers. His character was married to a rather younger wife who kept recording Football Italia for him. They were both murdered by the volatile brother (who harassed Lyndsey Corkhill/Stanlow) and he buried them in a grave he dug for them. Oh if only the days of Brookside could return. |

Freddie Boardley also had 2 roles in Take the High Road.
He appeared in 1981 episodes as a character called Malky Wilson, who knew Brian Blair from prison. He then appeared as a character called Malky Thomson in 1990 who was involved in organising illegal dog fights. Funny that they called both characters Malky. Could easily have made it that they were the same character. |

He had a second role in Brookside in 1994. He played Jimmy Corkhill's cellmate who dried of a drug overdose.
