It's always nice to see different sides of characters. We've been and done evil Tracy, so it would be nice to see a different side of her. Maybe Luke will make her a better person?

We're done with scheming Tracy now. The character is almost 40, it would be a lot more realistic for her now to decide that she has to change her ways and be a more responsible parent and family member.

I would be far happier if where she was going was towards the edge of a very high cliff in an unstoppable bus, though even then she'd probably come out of it without a mark on her & be back being horrible toeveryone again a few days later!!
I'm sorry but it's way too late to change the character now!! If Deirdre's death & the accusations that shame over Tracy's actions was the reason she'd stayed away, followed by almost being responsible for the death of the daughter we're meant to believe she loves more than anything in the world, didn't change her then realistically nothing would!!
The 'friendship' between her & Mary was never even slightly believable for me, given the foul & vicious insults she slung at her when she first returned!! Others may have forgotten Mary's stare of "I see Tracy Barlow on a slab.... and I don't mean chocolate" but I haven't & neither would Mary have!!

This is not even beginning to cover the fact that she has never once even offered a shred of remorse over the vicious, meticulously planned & cold blooded murder of someone who's only real crime towards her was cheating on her, and for which she only served 3 years of a life sentence & has been laughing & boasting about it ever since!

We have enough Barlows now not to miss this evil & perpetually objectionable monstrosity of a character!!

Just my opinion of course!!

For me, i'm afraid, Tracy is beyond redemption as a character. She has had too many chances to change her ways, but she only seems to ultimately care about herself.

If the loss of her mum, unborn twins, the way she has treat most of the men in her life, and her part played in the Victoria Court fire in which Amy was caught up in (just a few thoughts off the top of my head) didn't make Tracy a reformed character, then i would like to see what will.

They can knock the rough edges off Tracy and try to soften her, but it's too much water under the bridge for me now.

I'd totally forgot about the flats fire so they've brushed that under the carpet quite well

wonder if it will ever be mentioned again

The soaps do tend to assume that the audience has amnesia when it comes to characters (Tracey in CS, Phil in EE, Eric in ED). Still - at least Tracey did serve some time in prison for her misdeeds - unlike the others. I think the only soap in which the murderer/killer was destined to be caught and punished (if unfairly) was Brookside.

Back to Tracey though - I love evil Tracey and 'nice' Tracey. I think the actress has some of the best lines and her performances have improved over the years (I think coupling her with unlikely characters helps).

I agree with this.

Preposterous that anyone would still give her the time of day in that street, including her family. Absolutely LOATHE her with the most fiery of passions. However, it has never been a problem for a soap character to have a complete personality transplant overnight.
