Arguably he is the biggest male character in the modern history of eastenders .

It's that you just don't know what is going to happen with him in his scenes that always enjoy, jake wood is such a good actor that you pay attention o his scenes and they always keep you intrigued

I've enjoyed this week. Whether that's because it's Christmas or not we shall find out next week.

It feels a lot more character driven and less sensational. It's less predictable too. I genuinely don't know what is going to happen, which is good.

Last year, we knew what would happen at the Carters wedding, with the lake drama. It was a good episode, but predictable in my opinion.

It's been better lately, especially last night's episode, which I thought was very good with the Lee scenes on the roof. But we need to see more of this kind of thing, not the odd episode in ten.

the pace has gone up this week and now that Max seems to know more of the truth I hope the backfire will start on Ian and Jane, I want them to suffer a LOT and Jane to die.
Also I hope Lauren will not get off lightly.

Shame to see Rita and Danny go, I would rather have had Carmel, Kush and Sharon and Lauren to leave FOREVER

Everyone a good 2017

IT needed to happen. The foundations of the show were good, but the pace and storylines were old fashioned and poor. Now things have stepped up a bit, the two compliment eachover nicely.

I don't think SOC has a choice. The foundations for the show were pretty broken towards the end of the DTC era in terms of characters and some of the storylines which were currently happening. He's take this time to rebuild up the families and community, and I think it's full steam ahead into 2017.

Lee's storyline has been very good, best on EastEnders at the moment. . Now I want Max to stop dithering and go after Ian and Jane. Want it so much.

It's been good because there's been no Panto, no bins and no Bex/Shaks.

It's always got the potential to be great it's just spent the last 6 weeks being pretty mediocre!

When it's focused on top stories with decent actors it can be the best soap by a mile

It's gotten worse. I can't abide the man. He actually makes me feel ill. I thought he was going to rape Philth for a second. Max and Mick are two characters who make my skin crawl.

I don't know about better but Alfie is a bigger character than Max. Dennis Rickman was both bigger and better. I'd even put Mick (who is basically a pervier version of Alfie at this point) above Max as a bigger character but they're both awful characters anyway.

Max is the longest serving, most overexposed (besides Mick) and overrated male character in modern history in my opinion.

I agree, I'd struggled at the beginning with the changes, even up to a couple of weeks back but feel December its really started to pick up and is now feeling like something is happening, like a change in the current of the show.

It's improved since Max's return I've always liked him but at the moment he is very intriguing it will be interesting to see exactly what he does.

I didn't like the 25th Dec episode with the grimly contrived communlty dinner at the Vic but I am mesmerised by anything set in the call centre from hell.

The call centre is very watchable the boss and Oz are horrible but I want to see more of them.
