What's everybody watching this year?

I've had a look through various TV guides and it appears I'll mostly be sticking with the German channels again this year.

I'll be watching "Willkommen 2017" on ZDF later and might flick over occasionally and catch some of "L'anno che verrą" on Rai 1 & "”Feliz 2017!" on La 1.

Aside from those and Dinner for One at some point of course, I'll probably catch a few of the concerts on 3Sat too.

I don't think I'll be straying too far from Das Erste.

1625 - News Year's Eve Concert from Berlin
1755 - Dinner for One
1915 - Silvesterstadl - (even without Andy Borg)
until 2300 and fireworks at the Brandenburg Tor

Before then is 'Dinner fur Brot' on KiKa though. (1515)
Bernd the Bread shows us how to pour a bottle of wine tied to the top of his head!!

Its the same procedure as every year, but I still like it.

No Irish TV for you logjam since you moved!

None for me either, SWMBO wanted the Ka dish moved so that she could do some pruning, and it's still sitting sadly pointing in a random direction where she left it.....

It was an evening of Silvesterstadl for us. Briefly flicked across to the Schlagerparty on MDR, and then ZDF for the fireworks.

In the UK- Graham Norton on BBC One, Jools Holland (recorded) on Two, and ITV not even trying. We are put to shame!

It was Wilkommen 2017 on ZDF for us, then for a change tried BBC Scotland's "opt out" which I didn't think was too bad - the fireworks over Edinburgh Castle were good, but that was down to Edinburgh City Council I think, rather than BBC Scotland - though they did cover them rather better than ZDF did Berlin's. The national UK options just don't do it for me, why Jools Holland can't do it live on New Years Eve I fail to understand. It's the spontaneity that makes these shows.

I though Wilkommen 2017 had one of the weakest line-ups for a few years, and the presenter's were of the quality that suggested they had probably failed the audition to present the ESC!! The woman couldn't ad lib to save her life.

Anna Planken (ARD) would have been much better; she's been good when fronting the Koelner Lichter in July (always worth a watch).

I agree regarding the Willkommen 2017 line-up and presenters, they were both rather poor this year. I also didn't like that little mini studio set up away from all the action, they should have hosted it from the stage itself, like in past years.

Are the Vengaboys still popular in Germany, or was there some serious barrel-scraping going on for Wilkommen 2017?
