When will the scales fall from Trump's eyes?
To be precise when will Trump realise that Putin is playing him for a fool, and doing an excellent job of it. The problem is that Trump has shown himself to be extremely thin-skinned, bristling at any criticism or perceived slight. He has a reputation for calling in his lawyers. The future problem is that he can now call in his ICBMs. We can only hope that he is as good a negotiator as he imagines himself to be, but my money is on Putin outmanoeuvring him. His response to Obama's expulsions was a masterstroke, putting Obama completely on the back foot.

Being good at business is very good from being good at politics, and especially geopolitics - Trump is in for a nasty shock.

Think of it like this: Imagine you had a neighbour on one side who complains about every small thing you do to your property and regularly contacts the council if you do anything wrong, and on the other side you have a guy who seems happy for you to get on with whatever you want, but carries a shotgun round his garden. Which person would you be more worried about upsetting? |

In a way Trump is the perfect person to deal with Russia. He will reassure them that the US is not going to interfere in their basic attempts at reasserting their influence, however he is also so unpredictable that Putin will have to think twice about doing anything that could potentially upset him. With the Obama Whitehouse Russia knew that if they made move A that they would counter with moves B or C. However with Trump he could just throw the board in the air at any moment and stop playing.

And very good at banktruptcy.
Members of his own party are against thing he has said he wants to do. I can only see him screaming and shouting when the senate block some of his outlandish ideas. He also has to remember the CIA who I have no doubt know more about him and his dealings.I remember J E Hoover and his dealings with the Kennedys. He has about as much chance as Corbyn would have as prime minister most of his own against him nothing would or will get done. |

Trump isn't going to see the light. The charitable view is that Trump just sees the world solely in terms of financial deals - and wants to make money with Putin - Trump lacks the intellect , knowledge , and any moral values, to practice strategy and diplomacy - and he couldn't care less where Putin invades next - as long as there's no Trump hotel there being shot at. He's an isolationist racist , and they don't care much about anywhere much outside their own bank acount. The psychological view would be that Putin shares the same deviant psychology as Trump - a massive narcissistic complex - with grandiose aims, ridiculous over-estimation of his own ability, bombast, pathological lying, a thin skin , and bursts of anger, as the result. Like is attracted to like, and can play to a shared desire for adulation. Its Stalin admiring, and trusting, Hitler again. That ended well, But Stalin only caught on when Hitler attacked , and had a nervous breakdown - as reality bit.. The other view is that Trump may be hopelessly compromised. He's spent this century dependant on Russian financial backing, and on selling homes to Russian oligarchs. that creates a record, of deals, and discussions, views, comments, and ambitions, His tax returns are so toxic, he's kept them hidden. His personal profile, with claims he is a serial abuser and philanderer, would ring alarm bells on any security vetting, as would his psychological profile. Its very unlikely, the KGB hasn't got a massive file on him - probably with details of his financial transactions, his business aims in Russia, his associates, and any interesting sexual activity, with film of any in Russia , or that they could otherwise get. They almost certainly have hacked him , and may even have seen his tax statements. That would give them a whle range of options to deploy to shape his views. At one extreme, they could just threaten to admit hacking the democrats, and, implicitly, trying to get him elected, by default or aim. That would make him look like their poodle ,even if he didn't act like it. At the other extreme , there could be something far worse in his file, than anything they could find on Clinton. |

Trump should now be receiving confidential briefings from the CIA and FBI about the true nature of Russia's actions and intentions and he would be a fool if he ignored those briefings and warnings. In addition, he will be constrained by those prominent Republicans, such as Paul Ryan and John McCain, who recognise the true nature of the Putin regime.
