DTC or SOC?
Which EE Executive Producers work do you prefer?
The sensational stylings of Dominic Treadwell Collins or the Back to Basics approach from Sean O'Connor? |

For me it's SOC all the way. I hate how DTC wrecked the history of the show and the Beale plot was a farce.

I liked both and a balance of both would be good.
DTC gave us some amazing storylines but it all got a bit disjointed and messy after a while. The block storylines were a pain in the arse and I hated that he made Kush Arthur's father which, I feel, cheapened the very well done stillbirth story. Other than that I had no real complaints and EE Live was amazing. I appreciate that I don't take fictional telly as seriously as some though, and DTC did provide some excellent material to take the piss out of I like the community feel that SOC is giving us. I hadn't realised how much it had fallen apart until it started to be put back together. I like the atmosphere of the show now and when a shock appears it really is a shock, but I can see how it will get dull if it plods on. Hopefully it was simply about tidying up some of DTC's messier loose ends in a credible manner and laying foundations for some big storylines of his own. I don't mind the current pace myself but the endless moaning about it is getting very dull. I have voted SOC though, as I am enjoying the show and we haven't seen all he has to offer yet. |

I've voted for DTC PURELY for the Lucy s/l up to and including the LIVE episode. Phenomenal. Then it literally went downhill.

DTC had one good year 2014 after that it just went wrong.
I still think SOC bedding in but I preferred his approach despite some of the tedious non stories, I'm actually caring and liking characters again/ |

I agree DTC had a great 2014 and up until Live week and then it just seemed to fall apart. 2016 has been pretty messy but really enjoying SOC so far. 2016 has ended on a high and looking forward to 2017

But he had to take over from Birkwoods mess. So who's worse Birkwood or DTC?
But DTC took over from Newman and not Birkwood. New as era was dull, but it enabled Dom to do as he pleased straight away as there was nothing really outstanding. |

DTC gave us some decent s/l.. Stacey's psychosis, Christine, the still birth and the early parts of the rape and Lucy's murder. Unfortunately he couldn't resist twists and extraordinary secrets and his every day stuff was pretty awful, so he let himself down.
Too early to say if SOC is going to be better, but so far so good. I have found it dull at times but at least it hasn't descended into farce...yet😊 |

DTC, for being able to pull off the impossible and find a way to bring Grant back.

She just could'nt pick up the pieces after Birkwoods mess. Don't get me wrong i do not think DTC was that great of a producer, but he did not have alot to work with and basically had to keep shocking the audience into tuning in. Without the Lucy storyline, god knows what the audience numbers would be now. I dont think the show has truley had a good producer since about 2005! |

DTC was too self indulgent but improved some characters but the Carters were far too dominant under him. SOC is better but he has still kept on characters like Johnny, Sylvie & Tina who seem to be heading nowhere.

Newman wrecked Sharon's comeback and brought in the awful Dexter & Sam who in my opinion were the catalyst for the demise of Cora as a character. |

I hate DTC he was so cruel to some characters such as the young cast and Kat and Alfie all to make way for his Carter Family.

I am as yet undecided but do think SOC will turn out far better in the long run. The axing of Lee and the Cokers is starting to look silly though imo.

It's hard to make a choice really.
Dominic, for me, picked the show up and gave it the boost it needed. He saved the show, essentially, of course him and his team. I genuinely loved the show again, until the anniversary. Then it got shaky, and he seemed to get too "clever clever" as he once put it, and he came very close to jumping the shark. The show became a bit sensational and ridiculous. But for me, you can't take away what he did in his first 18 months. Sean, for me, came in and brought the show back down to earth, which I'm grateful for. He's received lots of criticism and I've always been a supporter of his, and I stand by that. I think he is doing a great job so far, and it's currently unmissable in my opinion. I'm not going to vote. But that's just my opinion. Happy new year, folks! |

I voted for DTC but I think if SOC can find a balance between hard hitting, action packed storylines and the community based plots, I think he can come out on top in the end. There have been glimmers under SOC, last nights episode with Lee being one example, but he's lacked consistency so far.
