Sprout stalk - edible ?
Today we bought sprouts on a stalk instead of a pre-packed bag or loose sprouts.
Can you cook and eat the stalk ? It seems such a waste to throw it away. |

I used to love and still do the stalk on Broccoli, in fact prefer it to the head part.

Moreover, is any part of the brussels sprouts plant edible?
They're just a joke item on the Christmas table surely? |

Sometimes sprouts are pretty good, sweet and taste like mini cabbages but other times they have this weird bitter taste and then I hate them.
I like broccoli stalk and cauliflower leaves though. |

My favourite veg.
I peel then cut up the stalk and put it into soup as well as broccoli stalks and cauliflower leaves. |
