With the year nearly over whats the biggest change in your life this year. It can anything from moving house or a new job to losing weight or starting the big change (menopause or andropause). Please feel free to share your change.

This year I started college and my mum was given the all clear from breast cancer.

Haven't really been any- I'm still in much the same place I was at the start of the year. Not looking for sympathy or anything- it's not a particularly *bad* place to be; I'm doing just fine. Getting a bit bored though; need to shake things up a little next year. Still, I'm moving house in a fortnight- that'll be a good start!

i`ve halted further decline in my living circumstances and maintained a low but consistent standard - a much bigger achievement than it sounds - and now i`ve moved on to actual visible improvements.

i feel like i`ve turned a corner on a very l o n g road and it`s not an episode, it`s real and sustainable.

Same as Stoatie really ...........just settled into a fairly comfortable rut where each day is much the same as the last

which is fine

the main memorable thing during this year was some emotional turmoil as my younger brother was desperately ill and I thought he might die but he's home now and slowly recovering

I was diagnosed with chronic congestive heart failure in the summer which was a bit of a bugger (no point being miserable about it in my mind). 4 weeks in hospital and medication for the rest of my life with various lifestyle changes.

Went back into permanent employment after contracting for the past few years so I get paid holidays and less stress.

I had my gender reassignment surgery in July, moved to a different town in September and started a degree in October.

Probably working from home for 2½ days per week. Although I'm officially at work, the difference it makes and the freedom it gives me, is incredible. Much more noticeable in the Summer than this time of year though.

Still, musn't get carried away. All due to be reviewed in July, so might be back in the office 5 days a week again from then.

New job. I hated my old one and was planning on quitting before the end of the year. We got married in October and I didn't want to make any big changes in my life or financial situation before the wedding was out the way, but then I got made redundant in June which accelerated my plans for finding a new path. I luckily found a new part-time job with a friend of mine within days of getting the news. I started it thinking it would just be something to tie me over until I find another full time job, but now I really enjoy it, and have no plans to leave! It's in the same industry I worked in before, but it's a very different role and one I thought would bore me - how wrong I was!

And I guess I could've said marriage, but nothing really has changed except my name and official relationship status. Life is the same though.

I lost my beloved cat. I had had her for 19 years and she had been through so much with me. I have never experienced pain quite like it.

The loss of my wonderful old dog in early April, after nearly 16 years. The house still feels strange without him.

In 2016 my beautiful, funny, kind, affectionate and caring children - 9 and 11 - were replaced by sociopathic, bloody-minded beasts, prone to mutinous moods during which they appear hellbent on making everyone as thoroughly unhappy as they are.

Thank Christ we seem to be getting over that phase because, although everything is generally muddling along nicely as I like it, it hasn't been the best of years.

Oh, and I visited Disneyland. Haven't been the same since. That wasn't a holiday; that was an extreme test of mental and physical endurance and I learnt a lot about myself. Like I'm not a good person and I might actually be capable of murder. Think a little bit of me died.

A death in the family and then a redundancy were not welcomed, the former very sad for all concerned.
But a few months ago, OH and me rescued a neglected rabbit. He's wonderful and we adore him.
This may seem trite to some but he's completely changed things; less stressing over trivialities and the knowledge we may have saved him from whatever.
Aquiring a pet doesn't work for everyone but getting our little chum to look after did it for us.
HNY all.

It's weird isn't it? We now have two wonderful cats but there are times like this afternoon when I miss the old girl so much and the absence is so noticeable.

Yes, nothing fills the gap left by an old pet. Another one makes it smaller but never fills it. I have another dog whose much younger and even her bouncing around the place causing havoc can't cover up the noticeable from space absence her older counterpart has left behind. He didn't do much but doze in his basket for the last couple of years but it's still odd to glance at the spot and there's nothing there. Your lucky you've got two new cats, I would dearly love another puppy but madam has got used to being her mummy's only spoilt little princess and all hell would break loose if she suddenly had to share.
