The loss of my wonderful old dog in early April, after nearly 16 years
. The house still feels strange without him. He was 14 and was a brilliant and lovely dog, the best, and the house just isn't the same without him. My son and I still talk about him most days. I just hope I'm reunited with him when my time comes!

In 2016 my beautiful, funny, kind, affectionate and caring children - 9 and 11 - were replaced by sociopathic, bloody-minded beasts, prone to mutinous moods during which they appear hellbent on making everyone as thoroughly unhappy as they are.
Thank Christ we seem to be getting over that phase because, although everything is generally muddling along nicely as I like it, it hasn't been the best of years. Oh, and I visited Disneyland. Haven't been the same since. That wasn't a holiday; that was an extreme test of mental and physical endurance and I learnt a lot about myself. Like I'm not a good person and I might actually be capable of murder. Think a little bit of me died. I went this year, enjoyed it, but I know what you mean by endurance! |

Its sad when pets leave as they become such a huge part of the family. My little springer is 5 year old love het to pieces.

Started the most amazing job.
Lost said job because of my health. Was sectioned under the Mental Health Act twice. And discharged yesterday. Unexpected year. |

Nothing.
My life flatlined about 12 years ago and there's been no resuscitation. The fairytales are wrong, I tell ya. |

Having no parents within the space of a hear.
Daughter having surgery that made her nearly 5" taller! (I keep talking to her chin ).Life generally pootles along as a parent/carer, you take the serious and the not-so-serious as your lot and just live your life thankful that you have the wonderful person you are caring for and happy in the knowledge that you love them so much, and they you, that it completely fills you. Of course, it's the person for whom you care who is really going through it all, you are just the person supporting them. Your admiration for them never stops, as a parent and as a carer. Their strength and determination never ceases to amaze you. |

tDid you actually enjoy the holiday? I went this year, enjoyed it, but I know what you mean by endurance! The first day or so it was awful and we thought what kind of fresh hell is this? And on the last day i was looking forward to going home which I NEVER do on holiday BUT somethings happened since then and I look back fondly and despite saying thank god that's done, we're never going back, I find myself going gooey when I see the Magic Kingdom castle and want to go back. I think I loved the atmosphere and could have spent forever just walking around looking at everything and taking pictures but it was the actual DOING of stuff that made it go all wrong. Want to eat? Queue forever. Want to go on a crappy ride? Queue forever. Want to go on a decent ride? Queue forever and a day. We don't do queues apparently...But we went in August so very busy and very very hot. If I was going again I might consider Jan. Heard it's quieter, the Xmas decs might still be up and it would be nice and cold! I do know that Florida is definitely off the table - we all realised that would be our idea of hell.

I didn't know about your Mum and Dad until tonight - I am so sorry. I know you're a tough cookie but it's ok to not be tough every now and again. I can't imagine what it's been like for you. You take care and lots of love to you and Jnr. Hope 2017 is kinder.

To be honest it was a pretty mundane tedious year so my answer would've been no change until just over 2 weeks ago but then my Dad died so that's shook me up a bit and its going to be a pretty big change with him not phoning out of he blue for an hour chat every few weeks............

Losing my Mum, who was also my best friend, and the person l used to speak to every day. And our garden stray cat, who we had neutered and brought him in, after he was a stray for 15yrs.

My dog who was 16 had to be put down in March. I got engaged in June. I had my gallbladder removed in November, ending months of pain.

![]() because obviously as you previously posted that your wife had a hysterectomy when she was young, you couldn't possibly have meant to say 'mrs' |
