They have a baby which looks to be almost South Asian in appearance playing the child of Kush who is only half Iranian and Stacey, who is white. The baby would be dark even for a full-blooded Iranian, Iet alone one that is only a quarter Iranian.

Look at this photo of Yasmin le Bon, who is half-Iranian, and her children who are a quarter-Iranian for comparison: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...-14-years.html

I know skin colour can be a sensitive issue, and hope I am not offending anyone, but I find it unrealistic.

1. It's t.v.
2. Genetics isn't always what you expect
3. My brother (white) has Indian wife and all 4 kids are different colours, genetics is like that

It's a baby I won't be worried until it gets a speaking part.

My friend is quarter Indian and she looks fully white, however her sister (quarter Indian like her) looks fully Asian!

It's all about genetics. If Arthur did come out looking full white and he went onto have children with a white lady, the child could still come with a darker skin tone. Sometimes it skips generations, genetics is a very funny thing.

Plus, I know many mixed race people (black and white) who have had kids that look either fully white, fully black or mixed race.

Also, know I'm rambling now, but the guy who used to live next door to me looked Chinese, everything thought he was, however, he was indeed fully Muslim to Muslim parents. Apparently there was a Chinese decent in his family that took generations to come out in him!

Sorry guys but Iranian≠Indian. Indians are a lot darker than Iranians.

Here's a vine from someone who is a quarter Iranian: https://vine.co/v/hD5H2DVgIaO

My dad is African - very dark skin. My mum is white Irish and I am so white I am practically see-through with blone hair and blue eyes, yet if you coloured me in then I look just like my dad's sister.. Genetics is a complicated thing.

It has been known for two white people to have a black baby

It would be so much simpler if genetics was like mixing paint - we'd probably all be much the same color now

But I thought Annie was WHITE - are you saying she was MIXED RACE?

read about that somewhere too - skipping generations - which means .. H + MM - if they get married and have kids, they could have quite a palette of colours, from a Pippi Longstocking to ....

Just to be realistic for a moment. How many babies of a quarter iranian descent do you think were born in the month before they needed to film scenes for Stacey's baby being born. Born in the locality or commuting distance of the studios?

Of those babies how many would have parents that would want to have their baby used for filming.

Not very many I imagine.

But I don't really think its correct to be discussing the colour of peoples skin and especially not that of a baby.

As others have said, it's not a case of mixing colours in certain percentages to achieve a consistent shade. Genetics are much more complicated than that, including recessive genes.

I have a very good friend whise father is Iranian and mother Scittish and, like a poster above, she is fair skinned, bkue eyed, blonde hair. You would never know she has any Middle Eastern heritage.

Another friend is also Scottish, married somebody whose father is Pakistani but you wouldn't kniw by looking at him and indeed I didn't kniw ubtil their second child was born who is very obviously mixed race with black hair, deep brown eyes and skin, and beautiful I might add. Their eldest child is very, very pale, blue eues, fair hair.

You probably wouldn't believe they were full siblings unkess you were told the family history.

It doesn't matter, & it shouldn't matter. Babies come in many shades of beauty; let him be.

'Let him be', you say that as though I have attacked or criticised a baby. I know very well that different skin colours are beautiful, my point is nothing at all to do with the beauty of various skin colours.

It was just an observation that a baby is the wrong colour. Would you say the same thing about a white couple on a soap who had a Chinese looking child? Because that would be ridiculous. Even with casting a child they still pick one that looks the part.

Considering, if you go back long enough in history, over 90% of the world's population originated from Africa, this is why it is perfectly possible for two European white parents to have a technically black child.

Colour is merely a skin tone, and all shades can be beautiful just as they can be evil. It's what's on the inside that counts, and if somebody bleeds the blood is always red.

Thanks

No it might have been adopted from China. I don't care what color Arthur is.

The skin colour of people from India ranges from very light to very dark...

Same applies to people of all racial/ethnic backgrounds

That is one persons experience. Others will be different with the same racial genetics.

One of my friends is half black and is paler than me (and I'm very pale), with green eyes. Many people mistake her for being fully white.

I'm not sure why people think genetics are simply and straight forward. It's like when people say 2 brown eyed parents cannot possibly have a blue eyed child.

As for soaps casting the right race, it wasn't that long ago that a white guy was playing an Asian guy in ED. I don't really think soaps care about being all that realistic.

One of my friends is a quarter Iranian and is a big Man Utd supporter. He goes to all the games. The only one he's missed in the last few years was against Chelsea last season.
