I'm just catching up with it now. I haven't see The Play that goes Wrong but if you like farce I would strongly recommend the original of these play within a play - 'Noises Off' - absolutely brilliant.

I too stumbled across this by chance a few minutes in not knowing what the hell it was. Well, it was extremely enjoyable.....great fun! The Hook actor seemed to be channelling Cleese when he was slagging off the audience.

That was funny.
End was a bit meh, but the middle was great.
Not enough sex though.

Best show on TV this Christmas!

Well done BBC.

Mind you didn't have to be that good to be the best, but it was.

That was fantastically hilarious - the best thing on TV over the Christmas period and one of the funniest programmes in 2016...... it was sheer brilliance....

I hope it does well in the ratings, although even if it doesn't it should still be cheap enough that they can do a different one every year.

Word by mouth and social media may make it do well on catch up. I think tonight's ratings will be low everywhere as typically everyone is out celebrating.

Very good, my son and I both laughed out loud. I think maybe some people on here are not quite getting the concept as they sound so po faced.

I properly enjoyed this even though I was expecting to switch it off after first few minutes.

The unexpected surprise gem of the season! I too had a few laugh out loud moments, which to be honest doesn't happen a lot nowadays.

Congratulations to all involved. I'm eager to see the other shows now.

The highlight for me was David Suchet relating the unfortunate Oliver! incident.

Peter pans privates pixulated.
I shall try saying that after midnight tonight when I have had a few drinks, bet I don't manage to though. Well I loved it, laughed more than I have done at something on telly for a long time. David Suchet was brilliant, nice to see him having a ball.
