Very good, my son and I both laughed out loud. I think maybe some people on here are not quite getting the concept as they sound so po faced.

I nearly bailed out after the first 5-10 minutes, which I think was the weakest part.
I'm glad I stuck with it. Things started to improve when the dog got stuck in the cat flap, and the bunk beds collapsing. Definitely benefited from the fact that, apart from David Suchet, the cast were all unknown to me, but likeable, so you end up being on their side. Those that declared it rubbish after the first few minutes (going by timing of their posts) should have hung on a few minutes longer, then they would have been hooked! |

I gave it five minutes " on posts, not sure if true or a put down, but this shows if you invest in something you get payback. I recall things like the great," Only fools and horses" it could take 10/20 minutes to get to the belly laugh. Some have limited tolerance or attention spans, thoose prepared to go with it, can be rewarded.

Accidentaly came into this during David Suchet's "Oliver!" part. Thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it as it seemed to be along the lines of "The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Drama Society" plays and "Noises Off", both of which I have crewed for at AmDram level and remember with affection as they were great fun to do and allowed inventive additions.
So apparently, I am middle class. No - just got a sense of humour. |

The funniest thing about this show was your need to repeatedly disparage others through the thread simply because their opinion differs to yours.

I remember watching The Play that Goes Wrong last year during their set on the Royal Variety. Made the front page of reddit as well (and among their pick of best videos of 2015) so it was enjoyed by those the world over.
I do think it was a bit wasted on New Years Eve though. |

I thought this was hysterical. Best thing on tv for me all Christmas. Hope it becomes a regular Christmas thing, there are plenty of plays they could attempt.

Surely the best thing on over the holiday; certainly the funniest. You have to be very skilled to look that stupid and clumsy.

It got much better as it went along. I enjoyed it.
But I suspect much like the excellent and superior The Sound of Music Live last year, it will not rate that well. |

My thoughts exactly (although I enjoyed the show as well). And yet it's ITV that "a few will defend whatsoever".

We enjoyed it and I thought that the rehearsals must have been a nightmare! The timing of the visual gags was spot on. This is something the first few posters seem to have missed!

Were you watching a different programme. Odd ITV should screen a similar one to this one at the same time.
![]() Nothing to do with ITV screening a similar show. |

So you think there's nothing wrong with telling people they lack a sense of humour just because they don't agree with you?
Some are only willing to accept that people should be allowed to have any opinion they like, as long as it doesn't conflict with their own. In fact, mentioning no names, if you say you disagree, you could be accused of being rude. It's an extension of the Bill Shankly philosophy; "It doesn't matter if you win or lose...as long as you don't lose." |
