Well guys you have to say this year has not been boring as i dont think we have had a year like this before with so much going on and history being made in the process

Donald Trump becoming President

Leicester City winning the Premier League

David Bowie, Prince and George Michael passing away in the same year

Brexit has certainly made things spicy......

Though, i suspect next year will make this one look as interesting as a nine hour long swedish arthouse movie......

1665 was pretty interesting, we were all dropping dead with the plague and at war with half of Europe

How can you possibly compare a couple of world wars with the global impact of Leicester being champions?

2017 can't come quick enough, surely it will stop these limp dicked, pimple-arsed " how bad was 2016 ? " threads.

Enuff already.

I dunno, as there have been lots of years and I have only been around for a few of them, I mean if we are only counting since the start of human civilisation we are still talking of many many thousands of them,

I think the several hundred years of Roman occupation would have been quite interesting, then there was 1066 and all that nasty arrow in the eyeball stuff, can't have been boring, and lets not forget the bubonic plague, frightening? oh yes, but boring? never.

1963 was pretty momentous:-

JFK assassinated
His assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, himself assassinated two days later
Martin Luther King gives his "I have a dream" speech
The Profumo scandal
The Great Train Robbery
Beatlemania

Was 2016 the most interesting year in human history? Is that the question?

It was obviously an interesting year for various reasons but I'm not entirely sure it was the most interesting year we've ever had. I wonder if 2017 will outdo 2016 in the "interesting" stakes!

Your right of course....no comparison whatsoever.

Nope - the only interesting thing was Brexit (which is also the best moment of 2016).

Don't care for celebrity deaths or football so 2016 overall was nothing out of the ordinary, for me.

Brexit didn't happen in 2016 (neither did Trump's presidency for that matter).

David Bowie, Prince and George Michael passing away in the same year
You omitted George Martin, Rick Parfitt, Keith Emerson and Leonard Cohen to name but four others (all very much more significant as far as my musical taste is concerned than either Prince or George Michael).

As they were all in the charts in Autumn 1984, I wonder whether any others will follow? I think Pete Burns with Dead or Alive had already entered the charts with You Spin Me Round by then.
