So, in the last five years:

Esther went into a coma after an overdose and recovered, but had to have a liver transplant (2013)
Then she became very ill during the hospital siege after an allergic reaction to medication, if I recall (2014)
Then she was in critical condition after Curtis was born and went into another coma (2015)
Now she has been shot in the head and is in a coma yet again (2016/17)

So that's one coma or medical emergency for all but one year of her time on the show ...

Yeah, if this does come to fruition then I'm out. Jade, Celine, and Esther dead all within a few months -- seems they're intent on killing off every nice character in the show (that's not even counting Rachel earlier this year, and Phoebe last). It's just such a shitty ending for a character that's been through so much.

Is this source generally known as being accurate? It wouldn't surprise me if Jazz Franks decided to leave, but if she is it would be nice to see her go out on a positive note after all the character has been through. Esther has been a favourite of mine since she arrived. It is very rare I love characters from the start, but Esther was one I did. The bullying storyline made me love her even more and it was her friendship with Grace which for me made Grace likeable and more than another villain. Celine and Jade were also firm favourites of mine, so to lose all three favourites so close together would be a huge disappointment. Especially when we are left with the likes of drippy Amy Barnes and eternal victim Maxine!

So at last count Hollyoaks had 7 gay characters

2 Female

& they are maybe killing off one of the females

Shame really, Esther is one of the better characters on the show. Hasn't Grace lost enough loved ones as it is? Fraser, Trevor and now her best friend.

Can't believe this is the outcome of that annoying Eva Falco's scheming. That idiot Liam really had to let her escape instead of letting Grace go after her.

I'm guessing Sienna isn't going to be killed off in any case despite the nature of her storyline with Warren and Joel. Still have a sinking feeling that Nico might be revealed as alive

Don't worry, there's still time for one of the male gays (or any other character, really) to be killed off ...at the rate characters are killed off in this show, I wonder whether someone will still be alive at the end of 2017.

I will miss Esther but I would like Grace and Kim together.

Amy has always got on my nerves too.
Maxine is best defined as a door mat. Wish she would go live with her sister for good.

Yeah every 4th line in their scripts is

"I'm soooooooooo sorry"

Something about Amy is really off. I remember liking her during her first stint. Doesn't help that she's paired with Duncan from Blue whose character is just getting on my nerves.
