I think everyone knows by now, it's not that big a deal.
However this show, presumably because it's classed as entertainment, escaped the crackdown. Don't get me wrong, i enjoy the show apart from the phony "we're live" schtick. Why Jools can't do a knowing "we know you know we recorded this earlier" bit as Graham Norton does is beyond me,. |

With all of the electronics available nowadays surely there was no need to inflict Roy Wood's raw unadulterated vocals on us. Sugs is the same singing live, can't hold a tune in a bucket.

Ah, Viva Love - Best track on the opportunistically titled Lexicon of Love 2. What's in a name? A high chart position, shitloads of sales and telly like this!

I enjoy your misanthropy, Straker. I hope you write professionally, you have the best turns of phrase on DS
![]() ... Gotta admire Heloise for customising her Tilted dance for this knees-up at the end. |

Just like every other day then. She's banned from wooded areas in case her thighs start a forest fire.

I agree, in the big scheme of things it's not that big a deal. But a few years ago there was an 'honesty' shakeout of tv, an agreement to stop misleading viewers in supposedly 'factual' programmes. For instance Homes Under the Hammer no longer pretended that they visited a property before the auction, etc, etc...
IIRC they even talked to Helen Skelton about her wedding even though her episodes were recorded before it had taken place. This hardly constitutes a grand deception of the audience though who have been in on it for years. |

No big name this year.
Imelda looking hot to trot in a fourth Corr sister sort of way , quite a departure, doing the tortured chanteuse thang in the posh frock. Leaving her beat up Rockabilly life behind in the trailerpark like the rusty '84 Dodge pickup that it was. |

If you can battle your way through the shite, YouTube is the best way to learn REAL THINGS without (too much) bias. Use some discretion, and stick to documentaries hosted by David Attenborough if you can subtract his "billlllllions of years agoooo" "evolution" delusion, you're all set. |

The enduring thought for me is that both Jools and the audience at any of his shows are of the opinion that those appearing are far better singers/musicians are better than they actually are.
Few seem to have the time to learn their craft, these days. Others have obviously had the time but have used it unwisely or have always been rubbish. Some who have appeared have been good, but sadly his shows are likely the only time you may get a chance to see them. Was "Pig-sick Steve" on again? I've heard better buskers on street corners playing for pennies. |
