I think everyone knows by now, it's not that big a deal.
I agree, in the big scheme of things it's not that big a deal. But a few years ago there was an 'honesty' shakeout of tv, an agreement to stop misleading viewers in supposedly 'factual' programmes. For instance Homes Under the Hammer no longer pretended that they visited a property before the auction, etc, etc...

However this show, presumably because it's classed as entertainment, escaped the crackdown.

Don't get me wrong, i enjoy the show apart from the phony "we're live" schtick. Why Jools can't do a knowing "we know you know we recorded this earlier" bit as Graham Norton does is beyond me,.

This is just two old men making a noise because their dinner is late coming round on the trolley.
It went a bit The Who/Hendrix in the retirement home there.

With all of the electronics available nowadays surely there was no need to inflict Roy Wood's raw unadulterated vocals on us. Sugs is the same singing live, can't hold a tune in a bucket.

To add to his accolades, he was almost a Mastermind champion.

Ah, Viva Love - Best track on the opportunistically titled Lexicon of Love 2. What's in a name? A high chart position, shitloads of sales and telly like this!

Yes. Like two airships parked side by side.

...

One day Seasick Steve will meet a tune but he won't recognise it.
And a happy new year to you too

Ach, that's a shame - if I had a penny for every time I laughed at one of your posts, you'd have at least 23p.

Just like every other day then. She's banned from wooded areas in case her thighs start a forest fire.
Good friend of Lloyd Cole back in the day.

I think the importance of the issue can be exaggerated. On Countdown Nick says "see you tomorrow" to the dictionary corner guest or even inquires about their weekend when everyone knows they record all five episodes with each guest in one day.

IIRC they even talked to Helen Skelton about her wedding even though her episodes were recorded before it had taken place.

This hardly constitutes a grand deception of the audience though who have been in on it for years.

Didn't recognise Imelda May at all, seems to have ditched the rockabilly look.
At the same time she ditched her rockabilly guitarist / husband.

No big name this year.

Imelda looking hot to trot in a fourth Corr sister sort of way , quite a departure, doing the tortured chanteuse thang in the posh frock.

Leaving her beat up Rockabilly life behind in the trailerpark like the rusty '84 Dodge pickup that it was.

"Crackdown" - lol, what planet do you hail from, my friend? If you watch TV you're fair game for being taken for the idiot you're assumed to have been by watching. It's all lowest common denominator, pre-digested brain slop, if you want to delude yourself into thinking the majority of it has different levels of truth, then please, after you... walk right this way, we have a telly ready for you, so sit down, put your feet up and watch your life (and intellect) waste away.

If you can battle your way through the shite, YouTube is the best way to learn REAL THINGS without (too much) bias. Use some discretion, and stick to documentaries hosted by David Attenborough if you can subtract his "billlllllions of years agoooo" "evolution" delusion, you're all set.

Are everyone in the studio professional actors as how do they pretend that it is New Years Eve when this dhoe was recorded weeks ago
Mostly industry invites, my son was in the audience due to his work connection to Rag'n'Bone Man.

The enduring thought for me is that both Jools and the audience at any of his shows are of the opinion that those appearing are far better singers/musicians are better than they actually are.
Few seem to have the time to learn their craft, these days. Others have obviously had the time but have used it unwisely or have always been rubbish.
Some who have appeared have been good, but sadly his shows are likely the only time you may get a chance to see them.
Was "Pig-sick Steve" on again?
I've heard better buskers on street corners playing for pennies.
