Well it's here, today is Sunday 1st January 2017 and as the New Year is finally upon us I would like to wish everyone a great year but it's also at this time that it's traditional to reflect on the past. It's hard to believe it but 2007 was 10 years ago now so lets reflect on what happened in that year.

In January, the year opened with high winds, In February came, the snow, In April the Virginia Tech Massacre occurred, In May, Madeline McCann went missing, In June, Tony Blair stood down as Prime Minister after 10 years being succeeded by Gordon Brown who stood unopposed, also in June Glasgow and London were targeted in terrorist attacks, In August the Mississippi Bridge collapsed, In September, Northern Rock were bailed out by the government, In November, the country was put on fraud alert after it was found that two computer disks containing the information of 25 million people went missing.

Big films on 2007: Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Spider Man 3, Shrek The Third, Transformers, Ratatouille, I Am Legend, The Simpsons Movie, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, 300.

So what were you doing in 2007?

Working with an extremely irritating colleague for most of that year.

The big hallion daughter who is taller than me now was just a toddler, I had our son in the Oct, was working as a nurse and I think we were at some stage of moving house/different town.

I was really happy then - a really good year. We didn't think we could have children so to have our daughter and then our son I remember being on a high - like some kind of 'family is complete' feeling. Yeah... didn't last...

Ah, thank you, I suppose it is. I really should try to remember that when I feel like throttling them now that they appear to have been replaced by hormonal, sociopathic clones.

I still lived with my mother in 2007. She used to feed me. I lost 4 stone in the 18 months after she died.

School - enjoying a rather comical part of my school life, whereas in 2006 it was hell due to the constant bullying.

Also saw my dad for the last time during December of that year.

I remember January 2007 pretty well, I was still in school and I skived most of the month to avoid my Art GCSE lessons. I would delete all of the school's voicemails from the home phone and wrote fake notes to give to the school. I remember my Mum caught me in the end, I wanted to go home but I wasn't sure if she was in. I called her from around the corner asking if she could go into my room to see if my PE kit was there. I was happy to hear that she had just gone out to work. She came home early and caught me posting on the DS Big Brother forums with the Celebrity Big Brother live feed on

I also had a particularly bad row with my Dad that month, he had moved out a couple of years earlier and the argument resulted in me refusing to see him for around six months.

Looking back on it now I realise how messed up I was at that time, I would say that I was truly depressed. I was pressured into joining the school's sixth form and everything improved after I left home/school and went to Uni in 2010.
