Deeply Stupid Mick cementing it in the minds of every viewer tonight, he is one deeply thick, intellectually stunted individual.

One tiny detail...when former cast members aren't around for weddings they usually reference their absence.

I didn't expect Carol to return for the wedding (Jack's sister) but I assumed Jack would make a reference about her and even other siblings not being able to make it or something.

Amy and Matthew will be well pleased, they now share ownership of a sizeable house in East London. It's about time they got on the property ladder.

Thanks.

The girls drowning was really well done .I'm glad to see the back of them because their constant falling out and making up was really annoyingly repetitive . At least Roxy knew how to look happy (usually when high or drunk) , but Sam Womack is a one trick pony with one vacant expression and far too much hair swishing in her limited acting repertoire .
Very eerie ending to a terrific episode .”

Disagree about Sam's acting. She showed everything tonight. Top notch.

Matthew is lined up to become quite rich when older. He will probably inherit Ronnie's money and there's the £100,000 that Archie left him and Amy.

The Xmas episode was shite! Loved tonight's NY episode, especially the scene with Lee & Mick. That's what Xmas should've been.

35 pages. No MQ tonight !!!!!!

Even in their last episode the Mitchell sisters bored me with their petty little arguments which occur for no apparent reason.

We had the temporary postment of a wedding for the umpteenth time...again for no good reason.

I was shocked that Roxanne had been given her own room. I would have thought that Veronica would want to keep her closer

I was shocked by the tombstone. Jack and Ronnie Mitchell.

and why on earth would Roxanne want to jump in that pool when Max was waikting for her ????

So Gormless Lee confessed to his major Crimes. Will Mick take the others in consideration ?

The Gormless One cried a lot but made no attempt to offer an explanation for betraying his family.

I would give it 5/10

I was surprised to see Whitney and Abi dancing together after everything that went down with Lee.

Exactly. Powerful ending though, but not worth killing R&R for.

I think all the drugs she'd been taking plus all the booze was a major factor. Time will tell though!

Every aspect was outstanding, especially the cinematography (yes, I'm using that term).

For me, the biggest bit was that it captured what a real wedding feels like. None of the usual soap cliches of a quick ceremony at the register office then the reception in the local pub. They really embraced the location and produced something that, to me, really reflected the time in which we live. The scenes with everyone dancing and enjoying themselves were sublime, especially with the shameless reference to the trailer that originally announced Ronnie and Roxy's arrival.

Might write a more detailed review later but needed to get my initial thoughts out now!

10/10.”

Excellent post

I've liked the majority of SOC's work, but killing R&R was wrong.

10/10-bye Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell.”

Agreed.

This - 100%

No, they had not run their course. They just needed better writing.

Ronnie's estate will surely pass to Jack, as the surviving spouse. Any pre-existing will becomes invalid when the testator dies.

Perhaps he'll give Max a job running the gym ...

It amazes me that people make serious comments about it being unrealistic, yet have been watching soaps for years and years where characters all live, work and marry people within a few yards of their front door. They endure countless murders, fires, explosions, affairs, rapes etc etc , again all within yards of their front door - yet some viewers swallow all this but get uptight by the fact that the hotel would have closed the swimming pool or whether Ronnie could have stood up even in the deep end.

It is probably better to say that it is unlikely to have happened like it did but not absolutely impossible.

Just watched the ep this morning. Can't believe EE killed them off, ronnie especially. They never learn and this time there is no coming back.

Same here. We had had a few drinks and thought it would be a laugh to jump, fully clothed, into the pool. All I remember is the shock of hitting the water making me gasp and inhale a bit of water. Once panic and disorientation set in, any rational thoughts like standing up, disentangling clothes, etc. go right out of your head and all you want to do is get a breath of air.

Luckily I was thrashing on the surface near the edge so could grab onto the ledge. If I had dived in, like Ronnie, I'd probably be a gonner too.

Surely Matthew will go live with Charlie now? He never gets mentioned. As if Dot wouldn't tell him Ronnie died and just live him with Jack. They need to at least mention him surely.

As for Carol not being there if I was Carol I'd be annoyed, considering the girl who murdered the bride's father managed an invite!

I thought it was a very good episode. The camerawork and visuals were amazing. That last shot of Roxy and Ronnie in the pool was iconic.

Ronnie's story has to be the saddest story of any soap character. She's never had a happy ending. The alternative ending would have meant Ronnie survived, but Roxy doesn't so even that wouldn't be a good ending for Ronnie. There is no Ronnie without Roxy or vice versa.

One thing I found truly iconic, was Roxy had Ronnie's veil wrapped around her... I found this symbolic because Ronnie always protected her sister. They both said "together forever" and this was true even in death.

That will depend on how Ronnie wrote her will, if she did not make provision for any marriage that might take place then yes former wills generally become invalid but of course may be contested , but if the will includes a clause which ensures it will continue to be valid after any marriage then it would be ok

One good thing that came out of last nights episode was Aunt Sal and Glenda. Would love for these both to make more appearances. Although for Goenda I think after the funeral that will most likely be the last we see of her, unless she chooses to play the loving grandmother.

People are saying it was the drugs that got Roxy killed but I thought it was just the drinking since we didn't see her take any other than the last Ep just before she died.

It was clearly just the drink at work.

Roxy had the drugs leftover in her bag because she was clearly going to be using them that night [had Ronnie not convinced her to come to the wedding after all].

it was the style of the filming and camera effects showing the dancing that suggested to me she was as high as a kite
