His persona may be very different to how it was when I first saw him on BBC News 24 as it was called back then a few years ago. It was as if they employed a lunatic for a laugh. But to be fair I think he probably knows his stuff and is very informed, sometimes these people are despite their deceptive appearance.
I believe that he moved on from the BBC and now works for CNN. Despite how wacky his persona was it seemed that they recognised a talent there.
I guess that they sometimes hire these maniacs to present business news because normally business news is so boring they need something to spice it up.

It makes you wonder if they're very different offscreen, and when they go home they go home alone and sad and are on pills to cope with their lonely depressed lives.
Probably not, but when someone is manic on television it makes you wonder if some of them are like that.
