They have been handing out kighthoods and dame thingy's like flippin' confetti this week and poor Wayne is ignored for his "services to football". I mean there are teenagers being given honours and probably a foetus will get one next, and still nothing for Waynaldo.

Should we start a campaign ?

Sir Wayne Rooney is definitely something I'd be willing to swallow.

Many would object though.

Any British sports person who wins anything seems to get a Knighthoool these days, so I doubt a campaign is necessag. Th ey are becoming more trivial and worthless by the year.

In the days of yore you had to be a skilled swordsman to be a knight. Nominate Samir Nasri

Well apart from being a great bloke, he has done quite a lot of charity work, to go along with such a great footballing career as well.

His off the field antics
with a grandmother
& 2 ladies of the night..etc
is not befitting of calling anyone Sir....

But then again anyone can get these awards so I wouldn't be surprised.

It just diminishes the respect you can give someone who earned it.

Well I don't like him as a bloke and I don't rate him as a player

What was it about him that you didn't like when you met him?

Back in days of yore, that is just the kind of "life experience" befitting a Knight of the realm.

Oh and I was really just taking the pi** out of the honours system with my thread question. The whole thing is total joke.

But I still bet Sir. Becks and Sir. Wayne will happen at some point.

Slept with prostitutes.

Thug on and off the field.

Swore at English fans on Live TV.

Appeared heavily inebriated in England training kit at 5am in a bar. Not professional behaviour.

It'd be worth it just for the outrage it would cause.

Abosolute cert for a Knighthood then. Remember Lord Lucan and Lord Archer still remains a peer.

Edit: Apologies to Wayne, none of his behaviour comes anywhere close to the rogues mentioned above.
