What are your plans for New Years day?
Today I plan on doing as little as possible. We always have another turkey dinner on New Years day around lunch time, following that the day will be spent on the sofa catching up on Sky+ and checking DS while finishing off the Christmas sweets before the diet kicks in tomorrow.

We plan on having a normal Sunday. Didn't bother seeing in the new year. Probably have a walk this morning followed by lunch.

After I've got Dad up, and helped him get washed and dressed - Dad's 97 -, after breakfast visit Mum's grave, then when I get back home clean the fridge, and then de-dust my PC filters, and do several software updates ect.

Husband left a while ago with Lab Elsie, for a nice muddy walk, I'm washing carpets and bedclothes before I set out with chihuahua Betty and my great niece for a walk with less mud.

Another day of volunteering with the homeless. A great laugh I expect, just like Christmas was.

Trip to pictures.
Meal in a pub. Find a spot to see the city of culture fireworks, despite not having a ticket. See the city centre light show in town. |

Thank you having been homeless for a time in the 80s we really valued anyone who helped out at any time but new year was especially hard so you are doing a great thing.
I have been homeless a few times but never street homeless, more staying in B&B and family and friends.. it wasn't easy though. Funny thing with the homeless they have nothing and yet never seem to moan, unlike a couple of the elderly that came nothing was good enough for them. ![]() I had so much to take with me donations from people were amazing. People do still care about others that makes you feel good to know ![]() Have a lovely year x |

I have just returned from the beach with my two dogs which was lovely watching the sun rise over the sea. We had to dodge the New Year's Day swimmers though lol. The sea's freezing (not literally) up here in North east England, I don't know how they do it.
They were all men..... don't know if that makes them braver or stupider than us 'mere' females..![]() Seriously though, well done, I couldn't do it for all the tea in China .Happy New year everyone! |

I really fancy a walk to blow away the cobwebs ready for the start of a new year, but it's piddling down. Hoping that the forecast is right and it stops for the afternoon.
So far, have changed bedding (usually a Monday job but fancied starting the year with clean sheets) and unwrapped the Christmas jimjams ready for tonight. |

In-laws coming down at 3pm for a nosh. Pop-Quiz type games will follow, booze will flow and sister-in-law will have rather too much and claim any game she is no good at 'rubbish'.

Well, I've had a shit already, but I supposed I'll have another before 3, and then a final one before bed. I'm not sure whether I'll need extra perching time after stuffing my face yesterday... but my plan is for two visits. I hope that helps.

Watching the New Year's Day Concert on BBC2 (and also saw the first part which is always relegated to the red button), and then recording and editing my vlogs for Best and Worst Films of the Year, although at the moment I'm also coughing like Bob Fleming!

Run, bath, cold lager then hot curry.
But run on hold as 2017 is already crying.

I was planning on lazing in bed but the dogs haven't mastered the art of feeding themselves or operating the door to the garden... Damn.
The rest of the day will be spent in my jammies watching crap on YouTube and thinking about the last bottle of cava in the fridge. |

Well I've just woken up so everything I had already planned to do needs to be done now. Some housework, clothes washing, changing bed sheets etc then my brother is coming to fit my new car battery hopefully in time to get down to grandads and watch the footy. Grandad has his great grand nephew and family coming to visit him today, first time he's seeing them in 16 years, so nana has cooked Khow Suey (my favourite) and we'll spend a few hours with them this evening.
