I'd agree with that partially but for the most part, she looks great. I'd prefer more of the long dress, classy Mariah than the swimsuit, cheap Mariah but IMO she's looked great recently whilst on stage in both.
Just to clarify im not having a go at her looks at all I just think the "showgirl" act doesn't suit her , I get she's playing up to the "diva " personality and past wearing jeans and belly tops but I feel she could do something different now if she had the right guidance

I agree about the comments too, what exactly do people want her to say about Jennifer Lopez at this point.
Ariana - ok it wouldn't have killed her to say "oh yea she's sounds great but I haven't heard a lot of her songs" and Demi ... well demi is just a big gob ranting and raving

She's had a song in the UK top 10 for the last 4 weeks. A number one in the Netherlands. Top 5 in Germany and top ten across most of Europe and Canada. A successful European tour and vegas stint. I would say she still has a career.
bib: Yes, that Christmas tune of hers, which always re-enters the UK Top 20 towards the end of each year (along with the Pogues, Wham and Shakin' ****ing Stevens)

Can't recall any other hit she has had in recent years apart from that.

Her last hit was #beautiful in 2013.

why say "I'm aware of what's been documented about the reasons why they stopped touring. " then, as it appears to contradict the part in bold?

the beatles couldn't perform well without monitors. since then bands use monitors to help them hear. when the beatles started playing huge venues they were the first to do so in such a way, so the first to encounter the problem, which was later resolved for future concerts so the bands could play. the point being that artists can't hear without the monitors and that's why the beatles stopped playing. if bands play huge venues with huge PA's or people screaming they can't play properly without monitors. bands weren't playing big shows without monitors, due to the issues the beatles had. they took lessons from it and found a solution
I don't see that I contradicted myself really because its my view they did perform well without monitors Sure, Shea and those size stadiums made it virtually impossible but gigs such as the Washington Coliseum showed just how good they were, playing to something like 8000.

Anyway, here's how a pro handles technical problems and yes I know the setting is different but damn Mariah could have at least tried! I mean, how many times must she have sung Emotions. Tsk!

I agree she could do something different. She's at the stage in her career, and life, where she could just be in the long, classy dresses that she looks best in.

I agree about the comments too, what exactly do people want her to say about Jennifer Lopez at this point.

This is exactly the point, what do people want her to say about JLO? 15 years ago, when angry that a sample she wanted to use ended up on a Lopez album thanks to her ex-husband, she made a flippant comment that everybody apart from her hardcore fans ignored. Now it's this big thing almost from nowhere that she once said she didn't know somebody who she probably walked past once or twice and said hello to at events. That's not being "mean" as Demi put it, it's probably just true.

With Ariana, she could have thought up some PR bullshit answer but she's always said, she doesn't listen to pop music, she doesn't listen to dance music. It's probably entirely true she doesn't know who Ariana is because she doesn't listen to that style of music. I remember a video of Whitney being asked what she thought of Mariah and she responded "I don't think of her". Now that's a shady comment, not "I don't listen to pop music so I don't know who she is". How many 47/48 year old women do know who Ariana Grande is?

Her answer to Demi was both funny and true. She didn't go for Miley Cyrus who made equally stupid comments about her. She doesn't do this whole everybody is best friends BS, she doesn't know somebody, she doesn't know them.

She gets called this shady person but I've personally never seen her go for somebody who didn't go for her first which to me is acceptable.

And I've just realised this whole post possibly sounds like I think you disagree but I'm in agreement, just expanding on the comments

The only "Technical" problem was that they played the instrumental version of her song, and not the version with the vocals she was going to mime to.
A singer that cannot even sing live for less than 4 minutes, there's your real problem.

If you notice the track did have backing and the whistle reverb on it, but no vocals. Mariah was going to sing Emotions live.

If the track was the wrong track , where did it come from?
Who supplied it? Her people?

Not at all. Considering that she had been singing the same song live all year on her tour. She was perfectly capable of singing it live that night had her audio equipment been working

“Just so you know, most of those big shows are [lip-synched] because they don’t want a mishap, and they want to make sure that everything is right,” said Osmond.

Osmond,so far up her own ass,she is throwing all the mime artists under the bus without even realising it - Hilarious
