Maybe I'm not their target market as a gay man, but I've just watched a few and without exception they all look better before the makeup.
I'm not picking on zoella, but she is the world's most popular and this shows her before and after . https://youtu.be/PNidbHZBPxU The after looks like someone has gone overboard on photoshoping and looks just off and a but alien. The no makeup looks great IMO. I know there is a beauty board, post posted in general as I think most on beauty are very pro makeup so won't have a balanced conversion. |

Some do.
But it comes down to preference I guess. Even if others feel they look better with a more natural look, some people genuinely enjoy putting make-up on, trying different styles and changing looks. And if they feel better doing it, I guess that's all that matters. |

I've always preferred the natural look. Many of these make-up jobs look a bit forced.

Sometimes, yeah. I think Zoella's makeup in that video looks fine though. I'm just not keen on "Instagram" makeup with heavy contouring, because I feel more comfortable looking like myself, I wouldn't want to look like a completely different person when I take off my makeup.

I can't agree that you think she looks better without any make-up because she doesn't ! I think she uses too many products for a young skinned woman however, no need for primer because slicking the foundation over your eyelids does the same job, and the highlighter isn't necessary. But I use the very same Rimmel 25 hr foundation, have done for years because it certainly does last all day. It's amazing stuff and covers broken capillaries and uneven skin tone, leaving you looking better than au naturel, as it did with Zoella. The biggest challenge is finding the exact shade for your skin, so that you disguise all the ' faults ' without looking as though you're plastered in gunk. And learning to apply make-up correctly so you don't end up looking like a Dutch doll
