With every day what passes it seems the story the media are spilling about the queen has a bad cold is wearing a bit thin, what do people think ?

Also what would happen with TV and radio coverage ?

I think there are pages about it on another open thread.

Clearly there is more to it than they are letting on that's for sure.

It's classic spin move to deflect and evade. It's straight out of the PR playbook.

Not saying she is dying or anything like that but clearly it is more than a "heavy cold".

But why can't it just be a heavy cold?

Well do heavy colds last 12 days.. 12 days where you can't leave the house?

If I didn't have a proper job I'd have stayed in over the last fortnight.

When you are 90 they can be fatal.

If you're 90 and it's the middle of winter you'd be well advised to stay indoors.

Exactly.

She's a person, she's very old, she has a bad cold and is recovering and keeping warm.

Seems perfectly reasonable.

There are already 18 pages of the same speculation still in progress.

Someone I vaguely know on fb said that the Queen xmcoukd have anything seriously wrong with her as she was royal and they could buy their way out of it. Some people really are idiots

Why do people expect somebody's personal health to be discussed in public?
The Queen is still an individual.

If you had to, you would, but if you didn't you very probably wouldn't especially if you were 90.

Is it appropriate for someone with a heavy cold to join others in a church service ?

I have been coughing my guts up for the past 4 weeks with this virus that is going round. So if she has the same at her age she would stay in.

So fed up with this warm weather we are having

Well the Queen always attends church service so some people think it is strange that she was not there as she never misses it

I have a feeling we are not going to see a lot of the Queen this year or Prince Phillip as they are just too old to their Royal duties these days

Perhaps it's more like flu?

I had flu in 2012 - for the first time in my life. And it was hideous. I was immobilized for nine days and didn't leave the house for two and a half weeks.

I used to be one of those people who said things like "I feel a bit fluey" and "I've got a touch of flu".
Never again will I trivilaize the illness like that. Real flu is downright scary.

Yes, real flu is bad but I bet most times that people say they have the flu they really mean a bad achy cold.
