iPhone 7 users, slight ticking noise?
Only had my iPhone 7 a week but just noticed if I put my ear to the back of the phone near the top by the camera, I can hear what I can only describe as a ticking noise like a clock? But it's only very faint, you can only hear it if you put your ear right up to it.
My wife's 7 plus doesn't do it, but it does make some random high pitched squeaks, again it can only be heard by resting it against your ear. I'm sure it's normal as they are basically a small computer packed into a phone shell? Just wondered if anyone with an iPhone 7 can put their ear by the camera and see if you can hear this ticking noise? Thanks. |

My 7 plus does it, but only when under high load. It's been reported as something that happens often, it doesnt seem to be that big of an issue though, and as far as I know shouldnt damage your phone.

Sounds like coil whine. Common in PC components which is what a phone is made up of at the end of the day.

Yeah I'm not really worried as I wouldn't know it was there unless I put my ear right up to it, and the phone works perfectly, so I'll just ignore it.
