It is now 20 years since 1997, does anyone else find it slightly alarming how distant the 90s feel now, when they always seemed so recent? or am i just talking rubbish?

Actually we were just saying today where has the time gone it doesn't seem that long ago were wondering what the millemium might bring and laughing at our neignbour who was telling us he had filled his garage with tinned foods and bottled water just in case. I wonder if he's managed to eat and drink all that by now

I left school in 1996 and often it feels like it was only about five years ago. I had the dreaded "Let's have a school reunion" message on facebook last night. No way!

I know it sounds so obvious, but it's just alarming how fast your life goes by.

Oh nooo! I would never go on one of those reuinions, especially for secondary school. it is a shock when you see people who are your age and they look haggard and middle aged, and you thin 'am I really in their age group??'

It's now at the point that anything before mid/late 90's seems so distant! Even though in the grand scheme of it all it isn't all that along ago.

I was a "new age traveller" in the 1990s! It was a long time ago but sometimes it seems like yesterday. I've changed a lot since then. The dreadlocks, hippy clothes and the caravan have all gone. Nowadays you'd never guess by looking at me.

It seems a lifetime ago, I had my first child in 1991, he will be 26 in February! and I will be 51, I am old and the 90s are a distant memory.

Geez........I've been self employed now for over 20 years since 1996

Leaving my job doesn't seem like that long ago but the intervening 20 years seems like a long time

oh well.........I knew 'things could only get better'...........

In some ways, but in others it only seems like a couple of years ago.

Next year will be a biggie for me as it will be my 20th anniversary of meeting MrKat, but there will be some big memories this year, 20 years since Tony Blair came to power and how exciting it seemed then to have a Labour government, soon changed though and in August 20 years since Princess Diana was killed.

As I listened to Papa Don't Preach the other day I thought to myself that the kid would be 30 now.

I'm 51 in April, but in my heart I'm still 21!! It's a shock when I look in the mirror!

Feels quite frightening. I remember them so well, it was my teenage years and it's like it's not long ago! What I would do to go back and be a teenager again and have the confidence in myself that I have now.

The thing is it still feels like only a few years ago, that's how fast time seem to be going for me.

I do miss the 90s though.

Well if it helps I have noticed that recent years have been going faster and faster. It does not feel that long ago that I was a child and now I'm an adult and it feels weird. It's scary to think that in 2 years I will celebrate my 10 year Digital Spy anniversary even scarier to think that I joined at 13 .

it gets faster and faster, when you hit your thirties the years seem like about six weeks, then the forties about three weeks, by the time you get to your seventies I'd imagine each year feels a few days long
