I used to listen to radio 4 a lot but rarely tune in these days

Just a couple of the 6.30 comedies and the 11pm quiz on Saturdays

Radio 4Extra is pretty good though .............I've been listening to the old Yes Minister shows !

still funny

Not a Radio 4 listener myself but I imagine even Jeremy would have been bored of his voice if its all day.

I tuned in to PM over the Christmas/New Year period and at least 15 minutes of the program was taken up with treating us to George Michael tracks. I now remember why I've always thought that the 80's and 90's was the crappiest ever for popular (sic) music.

I thought that it was only 5 live that went in for excessive coverage of "celebrity deaths". What ex-5live listeners refer to as a "Mandella Moment" which goes on for weeks.

They often do a theme on New Year's Day, wasn't it Harry Potter all day one year?

From the schedule on the web site it was about four hours of poetry spread across the whole day. So there was a lot more not-poetry than poetry.

After the Archers, it's the most listened to programme on the BBC iPlayer Radio.

It seems not everyone shares your tastes.

Ah come on, don't let the facts get in the way of a good DS rant

I think last year they did War and Peace all day, I recall a lot of complaints about that taking the day, R4's response was that they like to do something different on a day when most of their core-listenership is away
