People are being over dramatic, the Mitchell sisters were finished as characters, Ronnie murdered two people and needed her comeuppance and Roxy has been going round in circles for the past few years. The best thing SOC has done so far is killing them off, he's certainly not made a "huge mistake" as I keep reading. Killing Pat, Dirty Den, Lucy, Nick and Michael Moon, those are huge mistakes. R&R will be forgotten about in a couple years

It pisses me off that the only was a new exec producer thinks that they can be remembered for is by killing off iconic characters - SOC however is an egotistical arse by killing off bloody two!

When the show is dieing on its arse all people will be saying is 'should'nt have killed off ronnie and roxy'. it sounds stupid now but believe me it will happen. its the same bloody pattern each and every time.

It will be like Tiffany. In 10 years, both EastEnders and the actors will regret the way they bowed out.

I don't think it is a mistake. Had they left and then 'returned' 10 years later, they'd just be going through the same cyclical garbage. Ronnie wants stability. Roxy goes off the rails. Ronnie screams "YOU'RE MOI SISSSSTAAA" at her. Ronnie turns evil and kills someone. Roxy wants stability. Roxy makes a mistake. Ronnie screams "BUT SHE'S MOI SISSSTAAA" at someone. Rinse. Repeat.

It's a huge mistake no question,

I could have argued a case for r and r needing a rest, but this!!? It's to much and unneeded a Ronnie return in a few years for example would have been great

So this happens under Sean O'Conmor but yet Dominic was the egotistical sensationalist?? Hmmm...

The best thing SOC has done is kill of Ronnie and Roxy. They were incredibly annoying, repetitive and badly acted.

Ronnie should never have returned, what exactly has she done since coming back?

Exactly, R&R have had their hay day. Their schtick got boring in 2010.

Dominic had an ego on him but its nowhere near the level of SOC by the looks of what we have seen so far!

DTC was a moron too! He wrote for the moment with very little consideration for the future or what had happened in the past!

Lucy's death
Bobby the bludgeoner
Dean's attack on Linda
Sharon and Phil

All bullshit stories

They were fun for a minute when they first arrived then Ronnie became a silly caricature of a soap survivor and Roxy was just something they used as a B list character to sleep around when nothing else was happening.

Its just confirmed what i already knew i would be doing, switching off after 25 years.
For me, personally, MY OPINION, its got beyond a joke and they just do not seem to be able to match up the right producer with the show, DTC was good for the first half of his run, the new producer is shite.
I will watch their funerals and bid farewell.
The only thing and i mean THE ONLY thing to make me tune back in would be rebuilding the MItchells by bringing back KIM MEDCALF

many thanks

Dominic wasn't perfect and overall wasn't very popular on here and I respect that but asides from a small few things overall I enjoyed his tenure and had no major issues with what he done.

As for SOC I am actually dreading what the future holds while he is in charge

I see where you're coming from Aura but that post did make me smile as it sounds like you have the head of the BBC hostage and are shouting at a police hostage negotiator.

As a double murderess and babysnatcher (among other things) Ronnie was a spent force.

It's a shame that Roxy went but I think it was more fitting that the two left together,

To say they were a spent force isn't true. For example, how many bad things has Phil done, but he'll probably be in EE at least another 10 years.

I think it was fine to write them out of the show but their death felt ridiculous to me... The way Veronkia was behaving in those final scenes in particular was very out of the character and would she really have married Jack The Plank and settled for a life of boredom and drudgery with thick as sh*t Jack in Ongar?

They should have just had her ditch Wooden Jack at the aisle, load Roxy and the kids up in the car and drive off into the sunset...

Re. DTC, I thought he was the thing to happen to Eastenders for years. He totally "got" the show, it's history and it's roots.

When you think of the way that fool Kirkwood ran it into the ground, the turnaround under DTC was incredible.

Yes, he made mistakes, particularly Deano raping Linda - Which was a good story initially but became all about Danny Dyers reaction and took the focus massively from Linda - But compared to the years EE spent in the doldrums before DTC he was a breath of fresh air.

As for SOC, I'm not liking the direction he is taking at all.
