Mondays episode could start with Roxy waking up from a drug induced psychosis, and realising it was all a dream

Shouldn't have killed them off though!

It's the best decision SOC has made so far. They were tired characters who weren't even that great to begin with. Ronnie was a stock 'victim turned villain' and Roxy the archetypal 'tart with a heart'. Groundbreaking.

Anyone comparing this with the loss of Den, Pat, or Pauline needs to get some perspective. Honestly I was more upset at the loss of Wellard than I was R&R.

Am I naive in thinking there will be a twist tonight? I really do think we will get a suprise.

Not naive, just a case of wishful thinking

I will watch their funerals and bid farewell.
The only thing and i mean THE ONLY thing to make me tune back in would be rebuilding the MItchells by bringing back KIM MEDCALF

many thanks”

Well at least we're all saved from your broken record posts. Every cloud and that.

The only mistake is that now there are no female characters their age(30 somethings) other than Linda and Honey. It's always been an age group that Eastenders lacks, they are either older Sharon, Jane and Denise or younger Whitney, Lauren etc.

O'Connor said they're introducing new characters so hopefully we will see more new female characters in their 30s.

I do think killing them both off is a mistake. If the girls had quit and didn't want to return, then maybe... but Ronnie has been the centre of the biggest s/l in the last ten years and to close the door on her never coming back is a shame. She's like a Janine to me, may need a rest from time-to-time but too popular to kill off.

Roxy on the other hand didn't share the same impact and if they had just killed her off, I wouldn't be so bothered. The only saving grace is them both dying together.

Killing them is fine if you do it in a way that's going to have ongoing consequence for continuing characters. Their deaths if intertwined with secrets, deception and lies could have been the catalyst for the next first big storyline of 2017.

But none of that happened. So short of trying to get a decent rating for a single episode (and looking at the ratings thread it didn't even do that) it was all a bit pointless.

He wants to take the show back to a more family and community feel allegedly but he is bringing the size of families down. And in my opinion he is brining to an end some characters that are actually showing themselves that given the right material the audience really connect with.

Lee's storyline has been played amazingly by all involved and Danny BOy has been brilliant, the way he played the suicide attempt really struck a chord with feelings that I have been plagued with and thoughts and attempts I wanted to make.

R&R well I know this isn't what people want to hear but the biggest mistake he has made in the show so far, a new era could have brought in for the Mitchell as a while PHil changing his ways because of illness, Ronnie redeeming Herself with her true love and finally being a mother etc, watching Roxy become the mess and the villan, so many opportunities within this family ruined by the sensationalist deaths for no reasons,

Others- who have been written out of the show with opportunities to return but no one really bought into their characters like Kyle, Claudette, l

Samantha is 44, Rita just about makes it as a thirty something, she's 39. Samantha is aging well though I have to admit.

Thats what i thought, would not bother me though, i have no idea why he was brought back!
However i do get the feeling alot of the cast are no happy with the new producer, just from language they are using, tabloid reports, and the retweets we have seen over the past few mohths.

Sam Womack retweeted Babs windsors negative comments about SOC a few weeks ago.

I think it was a big mistake to kill them both off and the new producer has made a stupid descision. That 3 mitchells that have been killed off in just over 6 mnths. I agreed with Peggy's death as it was barbara windsors choice. Sam and Rita didn't choose to go. I agree with others that maybe they needed resting as characters but not killing off. They can't come back now. I like most of the things the producer is doing but not this. The second big mistake after axing Pam and Les although those 2 could come back one day. Also think New Johnny should be axed instead of lee.

I wonder if there will be an interview, or anything after tonight's episode. I find it odd how there has been no interview with either actresses or the producer. They usually have something following the big episodes, especially when they have a character exit.

I liked Ronnie and Roxy as feisty and very closely bonded sisterly characters but I too fear their time had come to exit the show. I was surprised at the dramatic circumstances in which they did so (seeing how day to day and tame all of SOC's produced stuff has been to date, the on going Lee story apart perhaps) but again, I think R&R had their day. I now wonder if their killing off was part to do with their tenth anniversary in the show, which heralded in the start of 2007 no less - although no mention of that fact that I've seen on here has been mentioned so far, nor was mentioned about it the show between anybody either. People say Roxy had been going round in circles for years but so had Ronnie too in effect - shown up by marrying the same man twice in the space of a few years no less!

I don't really have a problem with them being killed off but it's the way they were killed that I don't like.

Ronnie in particular is a complex character with a lot of history that could have come back to haunt her. I really wanted her to find out about killing Fatboy but they seem to have forgotten about her and Vincent's connection.

I also think Roxy deserves better than what could be described as an off screen death

I didn't see jonny labey, nitin ganatra ; Lin Blakely or Roger sloman and even Rita Simons throw a childish tantrum like Samantha has done.

The show pandered to Samantha for years with all her comings and goings. She should cop on
