I can understand writing them out and saying they need a few years out to be rested... but to kill them off is unnecessary
If I was executive producer, I wouldn't have killed them off but their deaths provoked lots of emotional reactions from fans and I think this is what O'Connor wanted. EastEnders is a major talking point now and their exits was spectacularly dramatic and they died together in tragic circumstances. It was a gruesome/memorable exit storyline for the sisters and it will go down in history, in my opinion.

SOC isn't anything like BK, however I don't agree with his decision to axe Ronnie and Roxy, two of soaps best characters ever, imo. I really miss them already.

Agreed. R&R were very popular characters. Killing them off just for a short-term boost is wrong & unnecessary.

A well written, dramatic exit (other than death) would STILL give the same effect, and would leave the door open for a return in the future.
